Um yes they can. If Moss was with someone from the Titans when the call happened then they could certianly say that he wasnt the one making the call.

I grew up in Nashville and worked in the TV biz in the Huntington/Charleston, WV market from 1999-2001. I know accents from both areas, and I assure you that Tennessee accents (central or eastern, and yes there is a difference) are quite different than West Virginia accents.

That is not to say that it is definitively Moss on that call. But it sounds like him, particularly with his sometimes unusual sentence construction and incorrect grammar, and specifically it does NOT sound like the accent of anyone who grew up in Nashville or all of Tennessee for that matter. Or Alabama or Mississippi or Georgia.

This does not mean that it was Moss, since Nashville draws people from all across America (and beyond), but the similarities are striking.

having listened to moss for a long time, it sure does sound like his voice and pattern of speech. but, like a lot of other people have said, only an expert could wager a guess, randy if from west virginia, and a lot of people in the south have a very similar voice to moss. i would not be the least bit surprised if it WAS him though.

Idk, being a Minnesotan and have listened to him for many years, I could not say that it is for sure Moss! Sort of sounds like him but it kind of lacks his attitude and his general way of talking! Like another person mentioned, I doubt Moss would start out by asking the question he did!
Moss would not try to hide his opinions anyways…. he lets everyone know what he thinks when he wants them to know!

I don’t know.

I mean it sounds like him, but hell, there are 6.9 billion people on this mudball…could be two or three thousand of them sound exactly alike.

Show me a cell phone or POTS record with his name on it or friend of his name on it.

It’ll be interesting to see if this story has legs and how long Randy stays silent as it does.

I doubt it. If he wanted to call in to vent, there are programs all over the place that will disguise your voice over a cell phone line.

Furthermore, Fisher’s gone out of his way to kiss Randy’s butt, which makes his personal grudge against Young playing out publicly so absurd.

Apparently this caller called in to the radio station while Moss was doing media interviews in the Titans locker room ….so there are several reporters in the Nashville area can say unequivocally that the caller in question is not Randy Moss.

Another perfectly good story ruined by facts and reality.

You have to be a pretty big Randy Moss homer to not think this was Randy Moss. The guy talks like Randy Moss and his only purpose was to quickly make two negative points about Jeff Fischer, as soon as he made his points and the host replied it might be Fischer’s last game he hung up. The host said they weren’t talking about Fischer when he called. Moss just can’t help himself, I’m sure a psychologist would have a field day labeling him because he literally can’t control himself. I would simply label him as having a case of “thinskinitis”.
