You might try studying ancient history. Whether or not you choose to believe in his deity, the writings of secular historians confirm that Jesus Christ existed and had a religious following. However, this is a football blog, and your views on religion are no more relevant than other people's rantings about their politics or whether I'm on my period. You're simply trying to be provocative and demonstrate how intellectual you are. Just keep in mind that untrained puppies are also provocative and smart people don't go out of their way to belittle others' beliefs. Being disrespectful doesn't make you sound important.

A) God and Jesus don’t exist, never have and never will. Believing in God is a mental disorder caused by early brainwashing; they do the same thing to their children in the Arab world. It is no different.

From all the God fearing people the world over, go shove it up your quolo, sideways.

It always amazes me the concern people have about Tim Tebow's relationship with his God. A lot of athletes thank God after every score or successful play. They do it in the media after getting awards and winning games or events. So what is the problem with this young man professing his faith and giving credit to God for any success he has had? I am sure he will not blame God if he flops today . Thats not the way it works. Tim will blame himself not God. Merry CHRISTmas everyone!

B) Kyle has played well this year. If he’s benches because he’s hurt… Fine. But if he’s benches because they’re testing the waters like they are in Washington, shame on them for making a huge mistake. They have a place for testing young talent and it’s called “the preseason.”

C) Tebow stands a decent chance of doing well against a miserable, horrible, awful, embarassingly bad Raiders team.

D) Go Chargers! lol…

E) Raiders suck my left nut.

================================

Although I agree with your first point... I find it interesting a Charger fan thinks the Raiders are an embarassingly bad team, considering they just went into San Diego and pretty much whipped there arses from start to finish.. oh.. and as for Tebow doing well.. remember.. this is the same embarassingly bad Raider team that went into Mile High and dropped 59 on this same Bronco defense.. I really don't think Tim and his God will make much of a difference.

There have been quite a few busts from the SEC, but then there are plenty from all major conferences.

Hell, look at the Pac-10:

Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, Cade McNown, Todd Maronivch, Matt Leinart

Since you're bashing the SEC, you must be envious of the fact that the SEC is by far the best conference in college football.

The numbers don't lie. Enjoy Penn State's continued state of mediocrity.

jluttrell32: Do I have to be a HATER to be annoyed by Tim Tebow? Can't I just find him annoying? Anyone that plays in the NFL has been a winner since Pop Warner, as were all NFL busts. I just remain skeptical that he will even be a serviceable NFL QB, but its just an observation on his abilities as a QB. Can't some one have the opinion that he is both overrated and yes, has a annoyingly goody goody attitude without being a HATER? If I thought the same things about Matt Leinart (overrated, unfocused, not tough) or Rex Grossman (overrated and a midget physically and mentally) or a handful of other QBs that came into the league with questions that did not pan out, does that make me a HATER?

I really don't believe I HATE Tim Tebow, I just think he's overrated (not a pocket passer, running ability doesn't make up for it at NFL level) and has enjoyed a lot of success and income from his team's success in college. And sure, I'd rather keep my football and religion separate. I don't believe religious entities are concerned about football games, just my opinion.

@steelers6pack ...

Did a bad batch of kielbasa go out??? This is the fourth idiotic post by a Steelers fan today. It's getting embarrassing!

Most quarterbacks fall short of expectations regardless of their conference. But right now, there are two Super Bowl winners from the SEC in the league: Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. Jay Cutler is a Pro Bowl QB from the SEC. And Matt Stafford has gotten off to a positive start in Detroit if he can just stay healthy. So that's four SEC QBs and five Big Ten QBs, genius. You really don't have much bragging room.

Tim Tebow is a fantastic athlete with a great work ethic. But he comes out of a run-first spread offense that's not a good breeding ground for NFL QBs and his poor throwing motion is heavily ingrained. That speaks to Tim Tebow's shortcomings as a QB, just as Jamarcus Russell's poor work ethic speaks to his character. The SEC has turned out plenty of quality players, including quarterbacks, over the years. Or are you unhappy with Hines Ward?

Stop being a nincompoop.

First, don't blame me for the list. I only cut/pasted it from NFL.com.

Beyond that, it is my own opinion he will fail in the NFL. I just don't think he has what it takes to be successful as a QB. As a tailback or TE maybe, but not as a QB. My .02

How is Brady Quinn not a starter somewhere in the NFL? Or at least, a top-end backup? He did so well at the end of last season and gets demoted to 3rd stringer overnight. I'd be willing to bet Carolina, Arizona, Minnesota, 49ers would all be doing better right now with Quinn at the helm. Could even make an argument for the Seahawks and the Phins...and I'm a Phins fan!

@ pkrlvr- "Wonder how many times he’s going to thank god during the game?"

What friggin difference does it make and what does that have to do with this man getting his opportunity to show his bosses, teammates, fans and" HATERS" like you just what he can do in this league! It is disgusting how a young man like Tim can try to do everything the right way. Setting a positive example for todays youth by his actions on and off the gridiron and even though he makes it known what his beliefs are and he stands behind those beliefs strongly, people like you try to throw dirt in his face just for that simple fact because God knows you can't find anything negative he's done to want to hate him for.

 Everyone says Tim is not ever going to succeed at the NFL level. He's a product of the system he ran in college. He's not the prototypical size of an NFL QB. Tebow has won his whole life, going all the way back to Pop Warner playing at Lake Shore Athletic Assoc. People have tried to knock others down through out history when they have displayed unbelievable success in life! Call it what you will, I call it being a HATER! Tim Tebow will never lose faith in God and will never lose faith in himself to succeed, and for those two reasons, I belive he will. And when he does the HATERS will still hate but Tebow will get the last laugh! Moron....Shmuck.....Closet Tim Tebow Lover....

Tebow will follow along the lines of other NFL QB draft busts…..

From NFL.com the most famous are Jeff George, Tim Couch, Alex Smith and David Carr. Also on the honorable mention list is Rick Mirer, Joey Harrington, Patrick Ramsey, Rex Grossman and J.P. Losman.

And from everybody else, Jamarcus Russell.

=======================

So because you can name one successful SEC NFL Qb that means he doesn't know what he's talking about?

Before Manning's Super Bowl win, the last SEC QB to win one was Ken Stabler over 30 years ago.

How about these recent SEC mega stars:

Brodie Croyle
Jamarcus Russell
Jason Campbell
Jesse Palmer
Jay Cutler
Heath Shuler
Jevan Snead
Danny Wuerfel
Matt Flynn

And it would be nice to ol' Matt Stafford stay on the field for more than 5 minutes before we annoint him, too.

The SEC being a mediocre source of QB talent for the NFL is a fact, I'm afraid.
