Below is a transcript of Mike Florio’s chat in Sunday Night Football Extra for Week 15’s Packers-Patriots game. You can access his live chat every week here: nbcsports.com/snfextra

10:14
PFTonSNF: What was it that Mike McCarthy said to Andrea Kremer at halftime again? Not make big mistakes. Got it.

10:16
PFTonSNF: Will be really interesting to see how the Packers respond here. Stay with the gameplan, stay on schedule. No need to go crazy with bombs.

10:18
AskSNF: will the vikings draft a quaterback?
PFTonSNF: Yes, think they have to somewhere. Deep crop this year.

10:18
AskSNF: How did Nick Collins get injured?
PFTonSNF: Hurt his ribs. Uncertain of how.

10:21
PFTonSNF: Great drive by the Packers to respond and settle this thing down. they continue to dink and dunk very well.

10:23
PFTonSNF: A few huge 15-yard penalties on the Patriots.

10:24
AskSNF: What are the packers chances of making the playoffs?
PFTonSNF: Even if they lose tonight, they will be in with wins over the Giants and Bears.

10:24
AskSNF: The Patriots better learn how to stop the screen or else they won’t have a chance against the Eagles…
PFTonSNF: Looking ahead much?

10:29
AskSNF: How far do you think the Jets are going to go in the playoffs?
PFTonSNF: All depends on the matchups. But I’d like their chances against the Chiefs or Colts. (As it stands now.) LONG way to go.

10:29
AskSNF: Do you think the Packers have exposed the Patriots defense tonight?
PFTonSNF: No secret the Patriots defense can be beat. Plus they are down 4 defensive linemen tonight.

10:30
PFTonSNF: The Packers lead time of possession 27:32-12:20. That’s a recipe to win in Foxborough.

10:32
PFTonSNF: Patriots are lucky to be down only 3 points. They are getting worked.

10:34
AskSNF: How good is Rai?
PFTonSNF: Getting better and better. Terrific piece to the puzzle long term.

10:35
AskSNF: if the packers lose and the bears win out, arent the pack out of the race unless New Orleans loses out???
PFTonSNF: Packers would pass the Giants (and Bucs) for the last wild card spot if they won out. (Even if they lost tonight.)

10:35
AskSNF: How can the Packers play this good against the Pats but lost to the Lions? Do you think its cuz Flynn had time to prepare?
PFTonSNF: That’s the NFL. The Packers are a very good team that had a huge letdown game.

10:37
AskSNF: what next for the gmen
PFTonSNF: Go to Lambeau with Rodgers likely back. That could decide playoff spot.

10:40
PFTonSNF: That Kuhn conversion was massive. Pats had them stopped. Now Packers could go up 2 scores.

10:41
AskSNF: Mike Vick MVP?
PFTonSNF: This game isn’t hurting his cause.

10:43
PFTonSNF: That goal line stand could prove massive. What a tackle by McCourty.

10:46
PFTonSNF: A little surprised McCarthy didn’t go for it there. Don’t think 6 points holds up. Could have pinned the Pats at 1 at worst.

10:47
AskSNF: ever gonna answer my question about grossman? does his performance validate shanahan’s decision?
PFTonSNF: Yes this week. Unfortunately they spent 2 draft picks and $17 million to be wrong about McNabb.

10:47
AskSNF: Matt Flyn for MVP!
PFTonSNF: Making a late run at it.

10:48
PFTonSNF: Time of possession before this drive: 32:28-13:34 Packers.

10:49
AskSNF: Connolly’s KR career over? Is the head injury Connolly’s blood rushing to his head after the kick?
PFTonSNF: Think he got it playing fullback, but not sure.

10:53
AskSNF: Hey Mike! do you think the steelers can be no.2 by the end of the season?
PFTonSNF: They are No. 2 right now so sure. Only have to beat the Panthers and Browns.

10:53
AskSNF: looks like the FG was a good choice, GB D stood tall and held the Pats to a FG.
PFTonSNF: A little early to say that.

10:54
AskSNF: how should the pats draft in the 2011 nfl draft?
PFTonSNF: No offense, but why would you be thinking about that right now??

10:56
AskSNF: Flynn is 20/30, 223 yds 3TD/1 Int. Not bad huh?
PFTonSNF: He’s been terrific. A credit to Mike McCarthy too. Good game plan.

10:58
PFTonSNF: I love a crisply played, mostly mistake-free game. Fun game.

11:00
AskSNF: Any chance that the Ravens can leap frog the Steelers in the AFC North after tying them this week?
PFTonSNF: Only if the Steelers lose to the Browns. (Pitt has division tiebreaker.)

11:03
… And that’s why I think you go for it on fourth-and-goal from the one.

11:05
AskSNF: With how Flynn is doing will he get interest from other teams in the offseason/?
PFTonSNF: Absolutely. Making some money tonight.

11:06
PFTonSNF: Pats have figured some things out this quarter. Packers need to go on another long scoring drive. Keep it on the ground.

11:07
AskSNF: Should MacCarthy have called a timeout when Brady went with the audible?
PFTonSNF: No, timeouts too valuable.

11:07
AskSNF: That series is a pretty good reason why Brady is MVP front-runner.
PFTonSNF: Has my vote.

11:10
PFTonSNF: This is the first time the Packers have given up 30 points in a game. best scoring defense in NFL.

11:11
PFTonSNF: As well as Packers D is playing, they have given up a lot of yards last two drives.

11:12
AskSNF: If the Pack gets a stop here, do you see Matt Flynn driving down field for a win?
PFTonSNF: Wouldn’t surprise me. More about the offense here.

11:13
PFTonSNF: HUGE three and out by Packers D. what an effort. Liked them coming with pressure there.

11:16
AskSNF: Who will win the NFC North if the Packers win? What if they lose?
PFTonSNF: Bears can clinch with a win tomorrow if the Packers lose. What a huge penalty. Terrible play.

11:16
AskSNF: with a win tonight…Do the patriots actually clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs?
PFTonSNF: Nope

11:17
AskSNF: all a ploy to get the packers in the playoffs. bad call
PFTonSNF: Was an easy call to make. Clear decision.

11:18
AskSNF: Do you think Jackson will rush for 100 yards the next 2 games? Looks like a man on fire.
PFTonSNF: Patriots defensive line is thin and sucking wind.

11:19
AskSNF: Is Flynn going to do something Rodgers can’t, and lead a 4th quarter comeback?
PFTonSNF: Would be ironic, huh?

11:20
PFTonSNF: Packers doing a great job milking the clock here. Keep running. Plenty of time.

11:22
PFTonSNF: Some tense moments here in New England. Win would be so massive for Packers. Could still win division.

11:23
AskSNF: what is flyyn’s contract situation with the packers…do you see him starting somewhere next yeat?
PFTonSNF: Under contract through 2011.

11:25
PFTonSNF: Patriots risking a lot with three man rush.

11:30
PFTonSNF: What an ending. Sad way to end there. Give a LOT of credit to Kyle Arrington for that tackle on the third down.

11:33
AskSNF: I guess they milked the clock too much :):)
PFTonSNF: Fair point.

11:34
AskSNF: is that why they should have gone for it on 4th and 1?
PFTonSNF: I think so because their offensive line was dominating.

11:34
PFTonSNF: Thanks guys. We’ll see you December 26.

How much longer until a borderline/phantom roughing the passer call is made against the Packers?

you kidding? EVERY call has gone the Packers way. BantaCain was hit in the face by that o-lineman before he responded. and the refs used the scoreboard to decide on throwing the flag against McCourty for inadvertently hitting that reciever high. get with it.

@mrhappy2000 – not tonight…but u got a hands to the face against the Pats’ game clinching int. forget that the other guy had hands to the face as well….or all the non-holding calls for muggin wilfork…

And the McNabby award for best coaching performance in a 2-minute drill goes to… Mike McCarthy of the Green Bay Packers! His utter lack of urgency, slow playcalling and failure to instigate the hurry-up offence was inexplicable, leaving him with no options when Flynn got sacked. Any time a team is down by a TD or less with the ball, 2 minutes or more to go, all 3 timeouts and decent field position, not getting even a crack at the endzone is a pathetic failure of coaching, execution or both.

  6. harrisonhits2 says: Dec 19, 2010 11:38 PM

When Belichick didn’t use his timeouts after the 2 min warning to give Brady a chance to come back and score if the Packers scored, I knew he was trusting his defense to win the game right then. He let the clock tick down knowing that was it and the kids stepped up great.

And Wilfork, he had to be totally gassed at the end but he dug deep and held the middle up.

    Congratulations of the contract extension.

mrhappy2000 morons like you give football fans a bad name. Why don’t you review the calls and late flags in the game and see who they overwhelmingly favored. You can’t because your incapable of intellectual honesty and rational thought. It’s people like you that make PFT a cesspool of insanity.

3rd down tackle short of the first as the Pack was on their last drive was Chung I believe…not Arrington. That tackle saved the game because it meant that GB out of timeouts & couldn’t clock it since it was 4th down.
