Favre doubtful to return after taking big hit

For one quarter, Brett Favre looked almost good as new. Then another big hit put him back on the sidelines.

Favre is doubtful to return to Monday night’s game after getting sacked by Bears defensive end Corey Wooten early in the second quarter. Favre was tossed to the ground and slammed his head on the frozen turf at TCF Stadium. The team immediately said he had a head injury.

We’re not even going to begin to speculate on Favre’s future over the next two weeks, much less next season. He was 5-of-7 for 63 yards, one touchdown, and an interception off a tipped pass before leaving. Joe Webb is in at quarterback for the Vikings.

To add insult to injury, the Bears quickly scored after Favre’s injury to make the score 17-7 midway through the second quarter.
