Steelers wish you a Merry Christmas, now cover your ears

A quarter century after the football-following world’s ears and eyes were subjected to The Super Bowl Shuffle, the Pittsburgh Steelers have provided us with a collection of Christmas Carols, performed by various subgroups of players.

We admire their enthusiasm (even though some groups weren’t all that enthusiastic).

It’s so bad that it’s actually sort of good.

  1. I’m no Steelers fan, but I’m ready to buy their defensive line a round of beers. Those big guys put all the fancy little skill players to shame with their singing. Not because they can carry a tune, heck no. Because they gave it their all and had a good time.

It’s a lesson for all of us: if you’re going to do something, do it with gusto. The surest way to embarrass yourself is to look embarrassed.

  2. That’s hysterical, adorable, and just plain precious.

    @meattuperello …

Guess you missed the link for the Steelers hospital toy drive. Seriously? Are you really that petty? All NFL teams do a lot of charity work, especially this time of year. This was just FUNNY. Maybe Santa will bring you a sense of humor.

  3. Deb, you are right. Also some of the Steelers visited some of our veterans (I think at Walter Reed) when they played Baltimore.

I laughed so hard at those big guys having a good time singing off key.

Maybe Santa will bring meattuperello coal in his stocking!

  4. Deb,

The funniest thing about it is how you needed to see the # 7 to pick Fatsburger out of the crowd.

So since it’s the giving season, I’ll be kind and keep my other comments to myself instead of sharing them with you.

  5. That was awesome. It’s a little unnerving how sweaty some of them got. The Chappelle show running gag was perfectly executed lol.
    Merry Christmas all!

    Seriously. Agreed.

  7. meattuperello? I know it must be a real bite watching Peyton Manning decend into obscurity while throwing more picks than Brett Favre ever dreamed of throwing. But, the Steelers rule! Deal with it.

  8. This is hysterical!! The guys had a great time. I’m a Bears fan and think this just may have topped the Super Bowl Shuffle. 🙂

However, I’m glad they chose football as their profession…LOL

  9. @meattuperello …

Bizarre comment about having to search for the #7 to pick out Roethlisberger. Personally, I wasn’t looking for Roethlisberger–was too busy laughing at the guys who don’t get that much camera time. But if you have a thing for Roethlisberger and wanted to search for him … well, to each his own.

    Merry Christmas!

  10. Outstanding! Fun to watch. Hilarious! Some appeared really nervous about doing this.

You really have to feel sorry for anyone that would make a negative comment about watching this. Anybody that is so wound up about their own football to make a negative comment, filled with so much hate, not able to express themselves as being a decent human being during the holidays, well….. you just have to feel sorry for them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GO STEELERS!! HAPPY TO BE A STEELER FAN!!

  11. Roethlesburger should have worn a Rudolph nose for a gag. His healed Fast! I’d still look like a raccoon.
