The Jets had issued a statement regarding the Deadspin report unearthing foot-fetish videos that appear to star the wife of Jets coach Rex Ryan. The coach had not personally addressed the situation.
He now has.
In a conference call with the Chicago media, Ryan said (via Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune), “I know you need to ask, it’s a personal matter.”
Though we’re surprised by Rex’s ability (so far) to stick to the Tannenbaum-crafted talking points, is it a personal matter when very private videos have been uploaded to a very public website?
We’re not so sure that it is, but we don’t know what else Ryan or anyone else would have or could have or should have said.

But more importantly, advertisers and sponsors do. This does cause potential issues for Woody Johnson and marketing his franchise.
You might not like what richman2256 says, but he is spot on with his analysis here. No amount of your return smack talk can take away from the fact that Woody Johnson (remember from Johnson and Johnson fame?) understands an awful lot about image and perception of his products. Let me tell you, he has to wonder at times exactly what image Ryan is setting for his team.
