Winter storm expected for Sunday night football

Bears Vikings Football

The Vikings defense will have a difficult time slowing down Michael Vick, but perhaps they can get an assist from the weather.

A winter storm watch is in effect in Philadelphia for Sunday’s Night’s game.   Snow accumulations of six inches or more is possible, along with bad visibility with winds expected to be 20-30 MPH with gusts reaching even higher.  The winter storm watch is in effect until Monday morning.

Joe Webb is expected to start at quarterback for the Vikings against Philadelphia.

Vikings got hammered in the last storm by the Bears! Eagles will be conaquering the Vikings Sunday night!! LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!

Considering all the debate over who is MVP, it will be interesting to see how Vick does in the snow. We saw what Brady did in the snow.

Like it or not, in practice, MVP is the award for the year’s best player, not really most valuable. That is Brady.

OK, Mike. Let’s see what you can do in the snow.

  4. wawa33 says: Dec 25, 2010 3:21 PM

Even in a blizzard, 450lb fat pig, father of the year sell-out Andy Reid will be visible in his black “slimming” jumpsuit.

  5. mnmaverick says: Dec 25, 2010 3:33 PM

The Vikings want to lose anyway, contrary to what the team is saying, the worst they finish, the higher they draft and the better shot they have at Luck or Mallette.

  6. iggles20 says: Dec 25, 2010 3:37 PM

I’m curious to see how the Vick and the Eagles do in the snow overall. Brady & Co make it look easy. Course, they do it seemingly on a regular. Maybe this is a day for Shady!

    FLY EAGLES FLY!

Really, we are worried about Vick?
Isn’t Webb playing in the same snow storm?
My money is on the Eagles even though I could care less.
Brady and the Pats will be up by many watching Fergie perform at halftime.
Thanks Jerry and get the place in decent shape when BB shows up.
I’d say maybe next year for the Cowboys but it is so quiet without their annoying fans.
Next year the pats silence Peypey and co.

  8. damnskins703 says: Dec 25, 2010 3:56 PM

How can you give the MVP to Vick he hasn’t played every game and Brady is definitely better than Vick.

  9. charleswoodson says: Dec 25, 2010 4:17 PM

Sorry, and with all due respect Vikings’ fans:

Andrew Luck is GONE by the time you’ll pick…..and Mallette (spelling?) is rated far poorer.

Maybe you’ll find your Franchise QB under a Christmas tree? In 2011? In 2020? It could be a while and now you’re “all-in” philosophy comes home to roost and haunt your house.

    Sorry, just expressing the facts.

  10. phillyfan4ever says: Dec 25, 2010 4:29 PM

Lol love the eagle haters, Our game got moved to 830 cas we draw huge rating with our explosive offensive and big play defense.

    Your teams have local blackout

  11. theblowedone says: Dec 25, 2010 4:45 PM

The Vick haters/jealousy is getting so blatantly obvious and you idiots think your fooling people. lol. Like seriously? You wouldnt want Vick on your team? Bc he ran a gambling ring where bad things were done to dogs? But guys like Dante Stallworth wins Ed Block Courage award a couple years removed from KILLING A FATHER OF FOUR YOUNG CHILDREN and noone says a PEEP? What about Ray Lewis? Guy is heralded by damn near everyone after STABBING TWO PEOPLE TO DEATH and getting off on a TECHNICALITY!? Did my CAPS speak loud enough? Each game Vick makes all 31 other teams who “passed” look like complete failures, these haters (who are all of a few people with different user accounts, notice how they always claim a certain team in their hate posts like that has any relevance besides trying to fool people into thinking they are diff accounts, and people who are obviously as dumb as they are at that) come crawling out and acting like they would hate having the most dynamic player in the NFL on their team. Its laughable. Your laughable. And Vick will be laughing at all of you on the way to the bank with his Lombardi….

  12. mean13 says: Dec 25, 2010 4:52 PM

What we really need to do is play a Super Bowl somewhere in the Jersey area. That way no one will have any idea who the best team is.

What a stupid decision that was.

  13. Bubby Brister says: Dec 25, 2010 5:20 PM

And suddenly this game is appealing to me. I could watch the ’08 Lions and the ’76 Bucs (or whatever year they went winless) play in the snow and get geeked for it. There’s nothing better than a snow game.

  14. mnmaverick says: Dec 25, 2010 5:36 PM

Listen to Packer fans express their fear of the Vikings with a young franchise QB. LOL

Believe me, if the Vikings lose one or both of their last two games , they have an excellent shot at those two QBs.

Not too many of the teams ahead of them need a QB.

The Packers plucked Rodgers at the bottom of the first round and their fans want to tell us that it’s not possible to get a difference maker in the top ten. ::::Howl::::

Rodgers slid the way he did for a reason, Pecker Heads. Scouts had their doubts. Mallett has proven himself. His stats are simillar to Bradford’s who had a nice year on a sorry Rams team.

  15. bodybaggame says: Dec 25, 2010 5:37 PM

How the hell did a snowstorm forecast become a Vick vs. Brady debate? And by the way, I’m an eagles fan, i bleed green, and have had season tix in my family since the Vet opened. Don’t get me wrong, i appreciate what Vick has done for this team, i appreciate that for once Reid was smart enough to realize that Vick was a better option than Kolb, but in my eyes, as with McNabb, he hasn’t done anything, i don’t pay what i pay for season tickets for a great regular season, no matter how freakin dynamic he is .Been there done that….I don’t hate Vick, but i still can’t relate to all of this “you’re a Hater” if you simply don’t act as if he’s one of the best of all time crap, maybe if he finally brings this team a lombardi i will change my mind, or maybe not, but my dog still wags her tail and jumps up and down when i get home, and she gets more respect from me…..The dog didn’t create this line of thinking…

Vick beat a favored Green Bay team on a cold, snowy night at Lambeau in ’02 (?) playoffs. So he can ball in that weather.

These days my grandma can against Minnesota.

    +1

On the Vick note. I’ll give him his due, he is playing the best football of his career.

Reading all the posts in multiple threads It seems to me that the Vick supporters sound an awful lot like the mindless Obama supporters…just sayin’.

  18. palinforpresidentofnorthkorea says: Dec 25, 2010 8:42 PM

Vick is more talented and versatile than Queen Brady.

Brady is the best at flopping on the turf and flailing his arms and kick his feet while crying like a baby. Give Brady a Best Actress award.

  19. bodybaggame says: Dec 25, 2010 9:11 PM

palin…….be real………I’m an eagles fan, but Brady has 3 titles, and Vick has Zero, get a freakin grip………No WAY Vick is more talented than Brady, i mean if you say more talented than Romo, Cutler, or any other Qb i can see you’re point……Face facts, if Brady did in philly, what he has done in NE, we would be building statues in his honor,..Vick hasn’t proven he is more talented til he wins what Brady expects……

“Like it or not, in practice, MVP is the award for the year’s best player, not really most valuable. That is Brady.”

No, actually MVP does stand for the most valuable player. Otherwise the voters would go for the player who has the best stats, which would be neither Vick nor Brady.

Although obviously the latter is the more popular pick among the media and fans because who else is more efficient with a dink and dunk offense?

This game needs to be CANCELED! I am an Eagles season ticket holder, but they are calling for 8-12 inches of snow, 30 MPH winds, a noreaster, and terrible visibility. Worse, in Jersey, where many fans are from, 12-18 inches of snow, and at night as well. The NFL needs to worry about fan safety here more than money. The snow is supposed to start at 7AM and go until Monday AM. The stadium, especially with Christmas and travel plans, will be half empty, at least. Many fans come from an hour away. CANCEL IT AND MOVE IT TO MONDAY NIGHT, NFL..

  25. timegambit says: Dec 25, 2010 11:21 PM

If Vick’s alter ego, Ron Mexico, shows up, this could be a wild night.

  26. nesuperfan says: Dec 25, 2010 11:44 PM

Jay, clearly you are new to the NFL and MVP voting, or you would not say such idiotic things. I don’t care what MVP literally means.

The reality is that MVP voting is always the best player of the year, and a lot of that is stats, but the rest is perception as to who is best.

Look at the list below. Nothing against Manning, but I don’t know that all the times he won, he was the most valuable, but he was, arguably, the best. If it really were an award for the most valuable, you would occasionally see guys on lower standing teams win it.

Yeah the NFL should cancel the game. If they don’t they should pay the fans that do show up and give free beer to all in attendance.

nesuperfan says “If it really were an award for the most valuable, you would occasionally see guys on lower standing teams win it.”

I disagree. the term most valuable is hard to apply to a Player of lower standing teams because if you take a player off of that team, they can’t be much worse. Like Arian Foster who will probably win the rushing title + TD title, but if you take him off of the Texans it’s not possible for them to be better because they’re last place. Hence the reason he would have NO BUSINESS in a debate for MVP.

I live in Arizona and is a Cards fan. But If i could I would want to go to that game just to experience that type of weather and watch the Vikings get smashed along with Favre. Big Vick fan over here & I hope Philly makes them look dumb on home turf.

—-Because Vick is (knock on wood) playing amazingly. He makes the whole team better. We know because we see it, and they say so. Nothing against Tom Terrific (a gay but appropriate nickname). Right now I’d be happy with either.
