Mark Sanchez gets the start against Bears

Mark Sanchez Pic

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is active for Sunday’s game despite torn cartilage in his right (throwing) shoulder. He will start against the Bears.

Inactive for the Jets: Tight end Jeff Cumberland, linebacker Jamaal Westerman, offensive tackle Damien Woody, defensive end Trevor Pryce, defensive tackles Jarron Gilbert and Matt Kroul, and safety Eric Smith.

The Jets’ third quarterback is Kellen Clemens, so Mark Brunell will get the call if Sanchez aggravates his injury.

The Bears’ inactives are offensive linemen Herman Johnson and Edwin Williams, defensive tackle Marcus Harrison, tight end Desmond Clark, defensive backs Craig Steltz and Joshua Moore, and running back Kahlil Bell.

Caleb Hanie is the Bears’ third quarterback. Linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa is active for the first time in several weeks, but will play as a reserve behind Nick Roach.
