New York teams still stuck on the road

GiantsWisconsin

The New York Jets and Giants still don’t know when they will be able to come home.

This isn’t particularly surprising to my vantage point.  There was a city bus that was stuck in the middle of a busy avenue for more than 10 hours today.  (It’s gone now.)  20 inches of snow fell in Manhattan and more in some of the outlying areas, like New Jersey where the teams will fly into.

The Giants will have another team meeting at 6 ET to give a status update.  For now, they are in Appleton, Wisconsin preparing for the Redskins.  The team learned from their last misadventure on the road against the Vikings, and brought material with them to prepare, according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark-Star Ledger.   (Giants P.R. maven Pat Hanlon tweeted the picture above of a team meal.)

Big Blue needs to get their minds right before long because they are very much alive in the playoff picture.  As we said last night, they are in with a win and a Packers loss next week.

The Jets are scheduled to leave Chicago at 7 p.m. ET, but that time has already been pushed back.   Everything remains “weather permitting.”  The team is having their normal Monday meetings and film review while in Chicago.

“[We're] pretty much just staying in the room, resting, watching movies, getting room service, and typical stuff you do when you have nothing to do,” LaDainian Tomlinson said.

AKA – The playoffs for Ladainian, sitting around doing nothing!

New JERSEY teams suck on the road.

There’s only one New York team and it wasn’t listed in this entire article.

…and they suck both at home and on the road.

They’ve got cars big as bars
    ..and rivers of gold,
But the wind blows right through you,
..it’s no place for the old.

All the boys in the NYPD choir
    .. were singing Galway Bay.
And the bells were ringing out, for Christmas Day.

You could have stopped at “New York teams still suck”

  6. gcsuk says: Dec 27, 2010 2:55 PM

Funny, I first read this as:

“New York Teams still SUCK on the road”

Would have been just as appropriate (at least in the Giants case).

Who cares, how ’bout this B.S. Tuesday night game… Why don’t you write something about that?

Wanna bet the Patriots players are studying film?

“Typical stuff you do when you have nothing to do” aka whacking off

  10. profootballwalk says: Dec 27, 2010 3:45 PM

New Jersey fans must be worried about their teams.

And to think that they’re going to play a Super Bowl in what could potentially be similar weather. Just goes to show that money and influence trump all. Its a good thing that there is something to do in New York other than freeze your tail off.

  12. meattuperello says: Dec 27, 2010 3:55 PM

Of course the Patriots are studying film. Now whether it was obtained legally or not is the question.

“What is your given name, sir?”
    “Joseph”
    “And your surname?”.
    “Joseph”.
    “No, your last name, please?”.
    “Joseph”.
“We need more than one name, sir, please co-operate. Now once again, what is your family name?”.
    “Oh, Jesus Christ, it’s Joseph!”.
“I think this guy must be drunk, Harry, let’s take him downtown.”.

Roethlisberger — if the Jets “suck on the road” and they beat the Steelers “on the road” where does that leave the Steelers? That’s right. On the floor of the rest room down in Georgia along with Rapistberger’s DNA. Co-mingling.

Not a Jets fan. Just an observation.

I lived in Houston when the Super Bowl was there, many people were complaining that the weather was cold there (high 40′s, low 50′s) and that was just walking around, finding things to do!

Just think how bad they are going to bitch sitting in an open stadium, colder as hell, potential of major snow!

  20. importantpftcomment says: Dec 27, 2010 5:07 PM

    @tfoz5150

You don’t really think that ol Mikey would say anything bad about the game his network is going to show do you?

Especially not after signing a long term deal with them. He doesn’t have the ‘nads it would take to go against the mainstream press that way!

  21. bigbluefan1 says: Dec 27, 2010 5:26 PM

Giants can stay on the road
TC has to go bring on the Chin

As for the jets rex is reviewing the tape of the foot

And it does not snow like this every day in NJ
And hot or cold unlike TX there is always something to do in the Tristate area

  22. bodybaggame says: Dec 27, 2010 5:48 PM

I get a laugh out of people bitching about the weather for a game that is 4 years away. People, who probably won’t go to the damn game anyway. I went to the Eagles/Pats Superbowl in Jacksonville, and trust me, i’d rather freeze my ass off in the toilet that is North Jersey, that go back to that God awful place. I think a snowy Superbowl would be great, it’s football, just as long as Mayor McNoNuts isn’t around, the game will be played as scheduled.

Walk your @sses back to NJ you wusses. If you need a pair of boots, ask Rexy if you can borrow the kinky ones.

  26. jimmysee says: Dec 27, 2010 7:08 PM

This is bad for both teams — also no training room services unless the hotels have hot tubs (paging Mark Chimura)!

  27. cliverush says: Dec 28, 2010 7:56 AM

Did the Roger Goddell call his little boys on the NJ teams to make sure they were tucked in. He needs to protect his heros like the juice head trainer from the RATS. No word yet from the league on what they plan as punishment. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the NY suck ups to punish their own team.
