Via an NFL Network report, Michael David Smith already brought to you news that Vikings quarterback Brett Favre would be inactive with a concussion Tuesday night. Minnesota does get back an integral player, however, with running back Adrian Peterson officially active for the game.
Peterson missed Week Fifteen with thigh and knee injuries, but was given the green light to start at Philadelphia. Rookie Toby Gerhart will back him up.
Joining Favre in street clothes are the following players: Safeties Madieu Williams and Tyrell Johnson, offensive lineman Thomas Welch, defensive tackle Fred Evans, and wide receivers Greg Lewis and Hank Baskett.
Rhett Bomar is the Vikings’ third quarterback. Jamarca Sanford starts for Williams at free safety, alongside Husain Abdullah. Joe Webb is starting for Favre.
Inactive for the host Eagles: Linebacker Stewart Bradley, cornerbacks Gerard Lawson and Brandon Hughes, defensive lineman Daniel Te’o-Nesheim, offensive linemen Austin Howard and Reggie Wells, and linebacker Keenan Clayton.
Recently acquired defensive end Derrick Burgess is active for his first game this season. Rookie Mike Kafka is the Eagles’ third quarterback.
