Its funny how peeps like to slam Jed. Ya know what, Eddie D freakin’ hired Joe Thomas. He screwed up more than once before he hired Walsh.

Sing was his first hire. He’ll get better. At least its clear that he cares….and not every owner can say that.

Michael Lombardi, Flory Reese should be considered. Jed York is a football executive in name only. Al Davis, despite being over the hill, has extensive football experience at all levels. York doesn’t have any actual experience of administrating a football organization, there is a need to bring in an executive who can mentor, assist and develop York. Eddie DeBartolo surrounded himself with Bill Walsh, Carmen Policy, John McVay and Neal Dahlen. What will Jed York do? So far nothing.

Obviously you have never been to SF and don’t watch baseball. Great sports city, NY and Chicago are good, but SF has far more tradition and 5 rings, count em 5 for 5. Any other team with 5 or more Superbowls and a 100% record in them?

The Raiders are a joke here, they moved to LA before. yes some people like them, but SF is great for sports. Unlike many places that won’t even come out to watch their teams, but yeah why SF/

Harbaugh is great coach at the collegiate level, but no pro experience. Whoever, don’t get a guy who has lost somewhere else…..frankly my Dear, I don’t give a damn!

This organization is in current shambles. The stadium is junk (yet they don’t have to worry about blizzards) and they can still move. Gruden may not want to deal with the issues and Harbaugh would likely just want to get his foot in the door in the NFL so he has to be the likely choice of the two. I doubt either wants to truly go there. On top of that, there’s the Rooney rule. Maybe they can find a candidate willing to take a bigger risk through that avenue???

Gruden’s already taken. I am hiring him for the Browns. I’ll be letting Mangini know that he’s toast shortly after this coming Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh. Thanks in advance for not mentioning Gruden’s availability again in any speculation about head coaching jobs in other cities.

@profootbalwalk – Newsflash, the niners are the most popular team in the bay area and the team is trying to get a new stadium done, you need a good team to manage that… besides, who knows how long the raiders will stick around after their stadium lease is up.

A broken watch is right more times in a Day then these clowns that work Bay Area Sports Reporting are in a year on what they claim to know, they know nothing and History will back that up.

Many have no “sources” or the ones they do claim as “sources” are nobodies and know nothing. You would think one of these clowns would have found out from their “sources” about a Blockbuster Trade like Moss or Seymour prior to it going down.

Many in the Bay Area have a man crush on Gruden and it just eat them alive when he was the coach of the Raiders. The Niners will take their time and bring in a good GM first and then they will look at coaches.

Great special on the NFL Network about Gruden, Dungy, Sapp, Brooks, and how the Bucs put together their Super Bowl Team. It gives you a different look at Gruden behind the scenes.

Either one would be a solid hire for the 49ers. Singletary should easily get a Defensive Coordinator job and should still be considered a Head Coach candidate for some of the struggling teams (Bills maybe).

How about Harbaugh to Carolina where he can draft Luck?

Harbaugh does make sense since he at least understands the elitist California weirdos. However, my bet is Michigan backs up a Brinks truck and offers him between around $4 million/year.

Gruden doesn’t have a QB to work with in SF and they won’t be in a situation to get Luck. Now, would he take on McNabb? If Cincy lets Carson Palmer go, I say put him with Gruden and whatever team they go to will be in the playoffs next year (or just put Gruden in Cincy).

Gosh, I hope not. We just started getting into the rhythm of watching and listening to Gruden during the MNF games while drinking. Every time he says: “THIS GUY,” everyone has to slam.

I can’t remember a single game since we started.

I’ll be one of the first to say it also….Gruden will not proseper anywhere but college. Every team he coached was set up beautifully when he got there and he tanked all of them into obscurity.
