In a crazy season for the 49ers, we’re not sure anything is crazier than the fact they are touchdown favorites on Sunday against Arizona.

Despite all the drama and poor play that has plagued the team, there is still a general feeling the 49ers are talented. We think that idea has been overstated, especially when you look at their options at quarterback.

Interim head coach Jim Tomsula announced Alex Smith will start the season finale over Troy Smith. It figures to be Alex Smith’s last start in San Francisco, although we’ve thought that was true before. Linebacker Patrick Willis will miss the game with a hand injury.

It would be typical for Smith to light up the Cardinals and tempt the team to bring him back next year.
