Maurice Jones-Drew expected to miss another game

The bad news keeps pouring in for the 8-7 Jaguars, clinging to their playoff hopes just two weeks after being in control of the division.

We passed along the news that quarterback David Garrard would miss Sunday’s game in Houston, and now Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Maurice Jones-Drew will be out for the game as well barring a “miraculous turnaround.”  Glazer reports Jones-Drew needs knee surgery, but is waiting to see if the team makes the playoffs first before going under the knife.

Garrard and Jones-Drew are probably the two players most responsible for the Jaguars’ surprising season.  On Sunday, they will be stucking watching Trent Edwards and Rashad Jennings from the sideline.

I didn’t even realize they were still alive for the playoffs. What has to happen for them to make it?

    Texans – 15 on IR (2 starters)

Jaguars – 13 on IR (3 starters) + MJD and Garrard

    Colts – 11 on IR (6 starters)

    Titans – 9 on IR (2 starters)

@realitypolice: We have to win at the Texans and the Colts will have to lose to the Titans.

@scallops Actually, my beloved Colts have 17 players on IR. It has not been a good year for them, especially in the areas of WR and DB.
