Favre passes initial concussion test, still unlikely to play

B. Favresit

Welcome to the final Sunday of the 2010 regular season. (Yes, we heard it turned into 2011 a little while ago. It’s still the 2010 season.)

The final full slate of games means this is officially the last time we’ll have to speculate on Brett Favre’s weekly status. Until he returns to play for the 49ers next year.

ESPN’s Ed Werder (who else?) reports Favre has passed his preliminary concussion tests, but still has more tests to pass on the field before he’d be cleared to play against the Lions Sunday. Favre hasn’t practiced in about a month.

“I don’t think he’s going to make it,” Frazier said. “It’s going to be tough.”

The game has a 1 p.m ET start, so we’ll get you an update on Favre’s status and all the rest of the inactives in no time.
