Hey 12thstreet: When did JR “come out and said he doesn’t want to spend money”?? You sure you got your facts correct? Do you have a link?

Please find me a quote of Jerry Richardson saying, “I will not pay money for a coach”. You say that because that’s what the national media has told you.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Typical Low IQ Plainther fans above!

Why do you need a link? Richardson and Mike Brown are cheapest onwers in the NFL.

All you need to see is the fact they both let their HC's coach in '10 w/o giving them and extension.

Someone hiring Rivera as head coach is almost a laughable as the idea that he is getting a “look-see” based on one game against the Colts. Didn’t anyone see the other 15 games. The Chargers didn’t make the playoffs and much of this had to do with how poorly the Dischargers played on defense. I don’t know what this guy did that is turning heads in the NFL. I was expecting him to get fired based on the fact that his team is declining.
---------------------------------
This is an example of a "fan" that has absolutely no clue yet assumes his/her opinion is fact. Here are the facts about Rivera's defense this year #1 over all, #1 against the pass, # 4 against the run. Expecting a DC to get fired based on this production is as moronic a comment that has been posted on PFT

The main reason the Chargers failed to make the playoffs is due to their moron GM J.A. Smith and his over inflated ego.

He left two of the teams best players off the roster for the majority of the season to prove a point.

The point that was proven is that they are watching the playoffs from home.

More proof Archie and Eli Manning were 100% right on not wanting any part of that franchise. I still believe they would have done the same thing with any AFC team, but that's just me.

To nflrulz:

Yes, Rivera does count. I guess Art Shell is unavailable. Leslie Frazier is definitely unavailable.

Richardson isn't going to hire Rivera because he has come out and said he doesn't want to spend money. Rivera isn't going to be cheap.

So in away Richardson is just doing his business his way. Let's all remember this is the man who is beating the drum the loudest for a lockout. A former player trying to screw player.

Abe Vigoda said it best in "The Godfather", 'Tell Mikey it was just business"
