Albert Haynesworth visits Redskins, but not Mike Shanahan

Washington Redskins v Baltimore Ravens

Albert Haynesworth made his scheduled visit to Redskins team headquarters today. But he didn’t see head coach Mike Shanahan.

Shanahan didn’t make any attempt to visit with Haynesworth, and the coach told reporters that Haynesworth never came by his office.

“I thought he may stop by, I wasn’t really sure,” Shanahan said. “He did not.”

Haynesworth, who was suspended for the final four games of the season, was required to show up today for a physical. All he said to reporters as he walked in was, “I’ve got nothing to say.”

The Redskins will likely try to trade Haynesworth this offseason, and if they can’t find a trading partner they could release him. Today’s visit may have been Haynesworth’s last time in the building.

Not a chance.. he’s cut by March 1st and signs with the Titans the next day

  2. waccoforflacco says: Jan 3, 2011 7:42 PM

A lazy piece of sh** end of story. He got his big and LAST big chunk of money from stupid Little Danny and has NO incentive to get in shape. He will just slowly disappear with all kinds of injuries.

“I thought he may stop by, I wasn’t really sure,” Shanahan said. “He did not.”

It’s little things like this that make people despise Shanahan and the reason he’s known as the rat.

He’s constantly playing games with people, never straight about anything, and has an ego that can’t be fed enough.

    @waccoforflaco

No. I do believe the Redskins still owe him around 7 mil. And he did come in this year in shape but in no way was Shanahan going to let him pass that test. Stick to your team in Baltimore

At the end of the day, these two deserve each other.

  12. moxin24 says: Jan 3, 2011 8:31 PM

Shanahan is a smug SOB and I love him.

  13. diehardskinfan21 says: Jan 3, 2011 8:41 PM

I can’t believe this is even a story.

  14. immortaljunk says: Jan 3, 2011 8:43 PM

I think the ole career may be over for this guy. I’m not sure who would take him after watching him “GIVE UP” on so many plays. I’ll never forget Mike Vick running around the pocket and this turd just falls on the ground face first waiting for the play to be over. What coach in their right mind wants this? I don’t like playing for the skins so I’ll only give 50%! I don’t think Shanahan cares to ever see this guy again.

BIG AL SUSPENDED 4 GAMES FOR CONDUCT AND SKINS LOST ALL 4. WHAT HARM COULD HE HAVE DONE?????

  16. kreepshow says: Jan 3, 2011 9:20 PM

If it wasn’t for John Elway, Shanny would be lucky to be defensive coordinator at Bowling Green.

  18. akos420 says: Jan 3, 2011 9:28 PM

wrong grandpa, defense played much better without him, as did the skins offense without mcnabb

  19. tooz56 says: Jan 3, 2011 9:32 PM

Maybe he didn’t play hard because his coach is an AZZ !! If another NFC East team picks him up, I’d think he’d be motivated for at least 2 of the game !

  20. boysroll says: Jan 3, 2011 9:42 PM

i bet an nfc east team picks him up and he kicks tail. their d sucked without him as well as the offense without mcnabb.

horrible coaching for a horrible org…last place too SUCKAS!!!!AGAIN..LMFAO.

Lost all 4 huh? Wow you’re dumb. Guess they didn’t play Jacksonville.

  22. harrisonhits2 says: Jan 3, 2011 10:01 PM

You got Shanny’s quote wrong, this is what he really said –

“I thought he might stop by with flowers and candy to apologize for being so mean this season, and it really broke my heart when he didn’t show.” Shanahan said tearfully.

    @tooz56

Wow that’s just awesome, a player who would get paid millions to be motivated for 2 games and suck the other 14. What a pickup he’ll be !

  26. oldhamletman says: Jan 3, 2011 10:46 PM

I wonder which is the next lucky team for Haynesy to claim he’s a ‘slave’ under…

you know, the team that will have the nerve to ask him to show up, or play their plays, or be in shape, or listen to the coaches…. that kinda stuff….

  27. snake11s says: Jan 3, 2011 11:36 PM

Without a long term contract, he might be good value for a team next year.
He only plays in contract years.

  28. bronco1st says: Jan 3, 2011 11:51 PM

Fatso should be bought into training camp, then humiliated in every way possible, then cut the turd like bad gas.

  29. jjmaddog says: Jan 3, 2011 11:59 PM

Keep pissin Albert off Shanahan, maybe he’ll come by and step on your head. See A. Gurode.

  30. FinFan68 says: Jan 4, 2011 12:00 AM

Haynesworth is the biggest turd to have ever put on the uniform of an NFL team. That includes OJ, Carruth, etc. This POS will be broke and in jail within 10 years.

Right, joebob, that’s some pretty evil language Ole Shanny used there. Stick to Canada and that goofy ice hockey that nobody watches.

    @smellyface-
I think as a fellow Raven fan that WaccoforFlacco would allow me to speak for him. We Ravens fans will gladly stick to our own team; our 12-4 team that is headed to the playoffs for the third consecutive year; our team that has more wins this year than your Skins have in the last 2 combined – you should try listening to people who are use to following a winner.

  33. jvw1982 says: Jan 4, 2011 12:24 AM

He’s not getting cut….he cashed a 22 million dollar check last yr and if he is not willing to part with some of it we will have round 2 next yr.

    Nice revisionist history!

How many SB’s did Elway win with Dan Reeves?

Terrell Davis is the reason the donkeys won 2 SB’s with Elway.

    Pay attention!

That “goofy ice hockey that nobody watches” is by far more popular than football all over the world, “mean13″.

The truly ignorant, like yourself, don’t have the mental capacity to understand it, so they slam it.

    Good luck in life, ignoramus.

Do you think that maybe it’s the leader/coach that is suppose to make the effort to reach out to the player?

If there was any kind of leadership or character in Washington Shanahan would’ve at least made an effort to say hello to him, whether you like the guy or not I think after the season you say something as the head coach to each player that comes into the building.

I truly feel sorry for Washington fans…you have a long road ahead of you with this regime.
