Albert Haynesworth drama not over just yet

Albert Haynesworth AP

The first offseason of discontent between Albert Haynesworth and the Redskins was so much fun that we could be headed for another round.

Rick Maese of the Washington Post writes that the Redskins are “highly unlikely” to simply cut Haynesworth this offseason, instead looking to trade him.  Good luck with that.

Haynesworth is due $5.4 million and any interested team could just wait out the Redskins.

Mike Shanahan isn’t afraid of a little drama, but it’s hard to imagine him bringing back the guy who ignored him and wore a jacket that said “PUNK” to the locker room Monday.  Really.

At least McNabb must be happy that the drama is off of his back for a while. Let Fat Albert have a turn at it!

  2. deadeye says: Jan 4, 2011 6:30 PM

Fat Albert is an idiot. The Redskins were bigger idiots for signing this guy to such a huge contract.

Shanny & Son seem to be making friends everywhere they go, like Jekyll & Hyde.

  4. slickzmoney says: Jan 4, 2011 6:42 PM

Dont see anything new here. Of course the Skins will hang onto AH until the last minute in case they can work a trade. And Albert wearing a PUNK jacket? So what? Its mildly amusing but not surprising that he wasn’t sporting the more accurate but less popular Anal Discharge jacket.

Albert is such a Sad Sack.

I don’t care if Haynesworth is well spoken, he’s a mental midget. I’d love to know what his IQ is. Whatever number one throws out there I’d have to take the under.

  7. VonClausewitz says: Jan 4, 2011 6:50 PM

Not that anyone could foresee this situation entering trainwreck territory before he was originally traded. Oh wait…

Note to self: Get a job with the Skins.

  8. bucks12965 says: Jan 4, 2011 6:54 PM

Isn’t it obvious by now that Shanahan is not concerned with winning? Now that we’ve established that, why wouldn’t he want to bring him back? Just one more way to show everyone he is in charge.

and flush till no water is left

PUNK….it’s you fat boy! Your teammates got left hanging ’cause you are a big baby. Waste of talent and a crappy teammate….now THAT is a legacy!

  11. ejmat2 says: Jan 4, 2011 7:09 PM

Maybe the Redskins should trade Albert and Donovan to the Vikings along with a 3rd round draft pick just to get them off their back and payroll. LOL

  12. rhythmfish says: Jan 4, 2011 7:15 PM

Another bust for a coach in D.C. Mishandles everything. C’mon Danny, time for a change!

  13. modelchip says: Jan 4, 2011 7:21 PM

With everything the Skins have gone through they need to get the 3rd and 4th they gave up for 2011.
Either way they have McNabb and Haynesworth under contract and I would keep them on the bench until they get compensated both picks.I believe the demand is definitely there for both of them

Jeezuz, Albert. You may not like the work situation, but the Redskins are your EMPLOYERS and Shanahan is the boss with the backing of the guy who writes the paychecks. Suck it up, stop being a crybaby, and be glad you’re being paid multi millions of dollars. You could always do the honorable thing and repay the bonus you received to PLAY, thereby letting you go elsewhere. Until then, shut up and play. You’re now the league’s biggest joke this side of Brett Favre.

Eagles should take a fly on Albert and get rid of Bunkley. Couldn’t hurt the team, only help them.

  16. sdw2001 says: Jan 4, 2011 7:40 PM

Haynesworth is an idiot. But I’ve also lost a lot of respect for Mike Shanahan throughout this year (and understand, I’m an Eagles fan). The way he’s handled both Haynesworth and McNutts has been atrocious.

  18. harrisonhits2 says: Jan 4, 2011 7:50 PM

What’s that stench from the direction of DC ? A huge walking piece of human fecal matter ?

  19. ernieernie says: Jan 4, 2011 7:54 PM

I hope the Redskins can do something to this fat pig to screw him big time like trading him to some team that is more pathetic than the skins.

I mean this guy is beyond a total waste and both he and his agent IMHO appear to be liars on all fronts.

  20. danfromdc says: Jan 4, 2011 8:00 PM

They didnt have any fat punk jackets?

  21. commoncents says: Jan 4, 2011 8:06 PM

The Skins paid alot and got little. Haynesworth got alot for a year, but is giving up a ton moving forward. Both sides are idiots.

  22. goodjet says: Jan 4, 2011 8:12 PM

I have more brains in the very tip of my pecker then Haynesworth (and Ochocinco for that matter) has combined in their heads and I’m no freaking genius. To be born with that kind of talent and to not have even one working brain cell. If the world didn’t have so many horrible things going on it it it would actually be sad but it’s not, it’s totally freaking hysterical.

    ==================

The guy just suckered a NFL organization into paying him around $40 million to do just about nothing.

    You sure he’s stupid?

  24. diehardskinfan21 says: Jan 4, 2011 8:25 PM

Hold onto him until the contract expires. Don’t ever play him and ignore the drama. Limit his earning potential. Just completely screw him for being such a jerk off.

  25. 4sacroc says: Jan 4, 2011 8:28 PM

I think the Fox5 DC chiron editor who typed “SITING” is more embarrassing than Fat Albert at this point.

    Good God.

Can Fox 5 find a monkey to enter chiron info?

Hall of Fame talent trapped in a trantrum, crybaby, toddler mind.

Were the reasons for Shanahans(sp) firing in Denver ever revealed? I’m wondering if there’s some Childress like behavior with Mr Mike.

Are you serious??? Yeah He has been selfish and a baby but you really think Shanahan was willing to work out anything and let him play your stupid. When he took the check which they HAD to pay him and didnt show up for mini camp that was the end. He was clearly the best they had but never used. You would rather him sit there and let the two Shanahans throw him under the bus and smile like McNabb? You people that think Shanahan shouldnt take some blame for this are crazy.

The only organization worse than the Redskins is the Washington Generals.

Can’t blame fat Albert for this one, it’s a much more complex, top-down problem. I certainly don’t have any answers, but gotta admit,
    I likes me some haynesworth!

  31. rrrobertson says: Jan 21, 2011 12:08 AM

    eeeeaasyyyyy all you Haynesworth-Haters!

if Albert can be motivated enough by the right coach (yeah, he’s a little bitch it’s true), I believe he can still be one of the highest ranking nose tackles in the league…..No? why??
