With Marvin Lewis’s contract expiring at the end of the regular season, everyone figured that he was done as head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. But maybe everyone was wrong.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Bengals expect Lewis to remain in Cincinnati, and the two sides expect to resolve any issues within next 24 hours.

Those issues presumably will include improving the team facilities and making some changes to the way personnel decisions are handled. Schefter reported on Sunday that Lewis was ready to leave Cincinnati because he wasn’t satisfied with those aspects of the Bengals organization.

Now, however, it’s looking like Lewis will be back. And there’s one fewer NFL coaching vacancy than expected.
