I agree with you on everything except for Haysworthless. He needs to be in a 4-3, and if we were to get Harbaugh, he runs a 3-4, and Haynesworthless can’t, and won’t work in our defensive scheme.

I totally agree with you. All Orton did was win in Chicago too. In fact, The Bears regressed backwards initially after trading him. The first 5 players drafted by the Broncos need to be impact defensive players. And they should speed up the process by luring Big Al Haynesworth to town to team up with Champ Baily and Elvis.

Orton only had TWO bad games this year….TWO, and guess what, he was hurt! WOW, you didn’t know, well then stop trying to put all the blame on Orton.

The only reason that Orton sat the last three weeks was because, as an orginization, the Broncos needed to see what they had in Tebow. He has intangibles that they obviously like. Orton is a pure passer, and the Broncos have been looking for the second coming of Elway. Elway endorces Tebow.

In short, anyone that gets Kyle Orton will be extremely happy with their purchase. He is worthy of a EARLY second. He can start right away, and make any team better. Give him half the defense that he DID not have in Denver, and he will lead your team to the promise land.

Denver desperately needs help on defense. That is what continually sabotages them. I would definitely trade Orton (the most tradable of the 3) to get the picks to take the best impact defensive lineman or linebacker in the draft! Or to stock up on 2nd or 3rd round picks where real defensive gems are mined. Anything else would be suicide for them. That team isn’t that far away, if they can fix the defense side of the ball. They can score plenty with Orton or Tebow. Unfortunately, they can’t stop an old Nun in football pads on “D”.

By the end of the year, I think at least half the teams in the league were going with a second or third stringer at QB, or a raw rookie. Every team wants at least two dependable QBs.

Kyle is worth AT LEAST A SECOND ROUND PICK. Otherwise go back to Joe Webb, John Skelton, Colt McCoy, Jimmy Clausen, Troy Smith, Charlie Whitehurst, Stephen McGee, Brian Hoyer, and all. Orton is too good for your team, schlepps. You don’t deserve him even if you get him.

I read these posts to see what kind of idiotic comments these unemployed “fans” write from their mom’s basement. But this is a GREAT comment. Used factual data and common sense at one time. THIS is the comment of the day. Orton may not have upside, but he is above average. And when you can win superbowls with Brad Johnson, Dilfer, and Big Ben before he was good, then you can win with Orton. They had a terrible supporting cast out there and a terrible coach. In Tennessee he would be great. CJ is always a threat, and the leagues best statistical play action quarterback would be even better with it. Then he has Scaife Britt Gage etc to throw to. Well done sir. This sounds like a win win situation for Orton and the Titans.

2. You know (or maybe you don’t) that asking for a 2nd rounder and getting one are two different things. You might also know (or not) that any trade chatter is pure speculation right now. If you read the article you linked to, it said “Orton is too good to be a back up, so he will likely be traded. The Broncos will ask for a 2nd round pick.” Point is they’d be happy with a 3rd or 4th considering the fleece job Joshie did to the latter part of the draft.

3. Keeping Orton at 8.4 mill as a backup is short sighted. (Oh, and by the way Orton is only guaranteed like a 1/4 of 8.4 mil.) Identifying assets to improve your team like trading Kyel, again, not shor sighted. Trying to make your number 1 QB pick work is not short sighted. There will be a more affordable vet backing up Tebow not named Orton, don’t be obtuse. Of course there will be another QB option, it just won’t be at a crazy price. Heck even Quinn is on the books for less than half a mil.

4. A point based on a possibility. AKA pissing in the wind. Orton would have to do the same thing, unless they keep the same offense, which they won’t, so what is your point again?

5. More speculation about motivating players when it’s clear you’ve never had to do so.

Re; Orton……. he’s a peculiar quarterback. Sucks just enough that you know you can’t hang a season on his arm and makes you want to get rid of him, and he’s just good enough that you think you can’t do any better for the money.

When you settle for the latter, you just know in your heart you’re not competing for the Super Bowl. Cut him loose but get what you can for him; he’s better than what several teams have already.

This is a no brainer: the Redskins will trade second and fourth round picks for Orton, sign him to an $80 million contract, call him fat and out of shape (with a bad haircut to boot) and ill-suited to run the Shanahan Offense and promptly cut him in 2012. Book it!

Sadly, I could see this happening. The Redskins should just offer Denver McNabb, Haynesworth, a 5th round pick, and a ham sandwich for Orton. Actually that would be a good deal for the Redskins cuz they are jettisoning Al and Donovan anyway. Losing the ham sandwhich woudl hurt though.
