I could care less what you haters say. We kicked ass this year. A kick here and a stop there and we’re playing the ravens at home on Sunday. We’ve done something this year that we haven’t done the previous 7 and that’s score points. Obviously we’ve got more work to do, but nonetheless, alot of pieces are in place for another solid team come next year.

Yeah, how DARE the Raiders fire a coach who beat up one of his employees.

Raider fans, you guys shouldn’t be too upset about this one. Cable had nothing to do with the talent that your team has stumbled upon, and did anyone realistically think he was going to lead them to a Super Bowl?

Gotta love the blissful ignorance of Raider fans: Schefter/Gay are know-nothings and Cable will be the coach…no wait, Cable deserved to go ’cause this is such a great team and should have won the AFCW…and…and Harbaugh will be the coach – yeah, that’s it! Al let Cable go because Harbaugh wants to work for Al!
Shell, Kiffin, Cable – those were all top flight coaching prospects that Al convinced to come to Oakland, so Harbaugh will definately want to work for an organization that as recently as 27 years ago knew what it was doing.
Yeah, that’s the ticket!

Did you know that Harbaugh was once with the Raiders as the QB coach????? He talks with Al Davis regularly and has always said how much he loves the team and would love to coach them…….

Relax everyone….I agree players played hard for him..but he wasnt much of an offensive play caller. I just heard Adam Schefter say that he could be hired as n offensive coordinator……..He was the worst play caller. Lets face it. Since last year the only new additions on the raider offense has been jarred valdheer and jacoby ford. Everyone one else has stayed the same. Hue Jack used the same players and propelled them to new levels. Cable couldnt. The offense has seen drastic changes…..I loved the guy but with the head coaching job he had his hand in too many plates. I really think he is going to hire Harbaugh ….seems like it…He likes Al and he has been a Raider Lifer…… If not Harbaugh then he is definitely keeping Hue Jack……he seems like he can handle the team. I wish Tom Cable the best though…I really hope he lands well and he will….Im confident he will get hired quick. He was a great line coach

Cable did this to himself and he should have learned what happens to coaches that cross Al Davis from what happened to Kiffin. Al wanted HIS QB in and Cable kept going back to Gradkowski and now, he’s paid the price. Whatever you may think about Davis and his possible loss of his thoughts or bowel moves, you have to understand that he wants what he wants and if you’re not on the same page, you’re either going to get on it or you’re gong to get gone. I also think that Jackson plays a role but only because he was Al’s man and I don’t think that Al wants to lose him to their Bay Area rival.

After wathcing the Raiders this season it doesn’t suprise me that Cable is out. Although 8-8 is an improvement, what is with all the penalties! Can we find a coach willing to adress this problem seriously. How many games did the raiders have a legitimate chance to win, then do something stupid to get a flag thrown. Also, going 6-0 in the division is great, but only winning 2 non-divisional games will get you fired. Goood luck in the future Raiders, we got the talent, but someone has got to smarten this team up.

I would have preferred to stay the course, personally.

I understand what Al Davis is thinking though, and to be completely honest, I’m not shocked by this, I’m disappointed.

The Raiders are actually a very talented football team and Al Davis knows it. They’re very young, but very talented.

Losing to teams like Arizona, Miami, SF, Houston and Jacksonville sealed his fate, along with making comments about how he was happy with the season.

Regardless of who the HC will be, the Raiders will be one hell of a good football team next year.

For the record, the Chiefs didn’t lay down, they got their a$$e$ handed to them. If they had pulled the starters in the second half then you might be able to make that argument but saying they laid down when the starters played the whole game just proves how little you know about the football.

Davis never has and never will hire a GM! He is so senile he thinks he is doing a good job as owner/GM! That team won’t hire a real GM at least until the day after the Crypt Keeper dies and even then it probably won’t happen because Davis’ idiot son will take over! I do hope Davis lives forever though so they can continue their losing ways!

At least they didn’t leave the poor guy waiting for weeks as Cryptkeeper Al is prone to do. I thought Cable did a pretty good job, but I can kind of understand this move as long as they promote Hue Jackson. That seems to be what they intend to do, but with Al Davis you can never be sure.

The Raiders are so irrelevant I did not see them on TV this year but I was wondering if they still have those “Committment to Excellence” banners all around the stadium?
Someone please explain to me how Madden ever won a SuperBowl, unless he hurt Vermiel’s feelings prior to the game.

Once the offense turned around under Jackson, Al knew he didn’t need Cable any longer. Cable was always a transitional coach. He was just a seat warmer till Al got his dream coach. Hue Jackson is what Al has been waiting for since he traded Gruden.

Just when the Raiders become relevant again they take a step back. Unless they make a big hire, like Jim Harbaugh, Cable’s firing makes no sense. The presence of Al Davis and moves like letting go of Cable will scare quality coaches away. If this same exact team was named the Carolina Panthers coaches would be lining up for the job, but it’s not so the Raiders will hire some desperate straggler of a coach. Shame.

It was more Jackson than Cable.

Al Davis has been a hard man to figure out for a long time. Lately he has been more so. He insisted on drafting Jamarcus and then insisted that Cable play the guy and keep working with him. Cable had to fiddle with that lazy bum for two years, so Al has that one on his a$$. Now Cable has the team going better every game, the players evidently like him, and Al fires him. WTF Al? Don’t ya like to win?

And the assistant coach that got his jaw broke sounded like he needed to get mashed. Insolent big mouthed coaches need to go down the road. Anybody can be a smart mouth.

It looks like Cable was Al’S puppet for the last couple of years. Just stand on the sideline and do as I say and agree with my personel decisions. Cable did that and did a good job of it. Now the problem is that Hue Jackson came in and did a helluva job and doubled our offensive production from a year ago. He has aspiratitons to be a head coach. The 49′ers have already called and Denver is sniffing around too. I would really hate to see Hue Jackson go anywhere within the division. We only have 2 coaches under contract at the moment. Marshall and Jackson. So if Al is willing to fire Cable to hire Jackson then he should be willing to give up a little bit of control as far as personell decisions are concerned. I really dont see Harbaugh as an option here. Gruden wont be back either. Al will wait and let Jackson interview for a bit and then sign him. As you all can see Cable is not exactly a sought after head coach at the moment. I dont mean to sound down on him, but he hasnt set himself as elite yet. He will end up somewhere as an Offensive line coach. So as Raider fans we can expect another turbulent off season and hopefully we will emerge as the class of the AFC WEST next season.
