I don't understand the Browns-Favre comment.
funny bickering here. Who cares where you are ranked. 3rd, 4th whatever. It is the playofss. Anybody can win - any game but right now everybody is 0-0 except for the bye teams they already won their first round game.
Ravens still have to win first, that alone should put the Steelers ahead of them.

Steelers D was definitely more consistent than the Ravens this year.

Hope we make it to Heinz Field as I always look forward to these games.

Go RAVENS!!!

I'm a Lions fan, and I can't see them at 14th yet. So many teams have better records. But I do BELIEVE they are a top half team. It's a sort of paradox... after so much losing and expecting the worst... you can't see them being good. But they are a much improved team the second half of the season, and are finally over the hump I believe.

I know it's a matter of opinion, but I'm lost at the backdrop of the Eagles to 11. Dropping them 4 spots for losing by 1 point in a meaningless game in which they rested a majority, if not all, of their starters? And the Ravens being ahead of the Steelers is just silly. Steelers have been more consistent on offense and defense this year, or at least by what I've seen.

Steelers Fans -
There are too many insane comments to keep track of. We squeaked by Buffalo - but you blew them out, right? Thought so. It took the Patriots two weeks of rest and preparation to barely beat us at home in ot. They thumped you in your house. You got Atlanta at home, we went to a dome on Monday night and almost pulled it out. The Ravens went pre-season vanilla in their last two games. Beware - don't you think it is a little strange that they looked sooo good against the Saints and bland against the Browns and Bungles? C'mon man - you even have more brains than to fall for that - And we will run you

New Orleans Saints (No. 2; 11-5): On Saturday in Seattle, the Saints will get a taste of what the Cardinals and Vikings had to deal with last year in the Superdome.
--------------------------------------

Uhhh...other than the noise level (which is what you are referring to I presume) the Saints experience at Qwest will be NOTHING like what the Cardinals and Vikings experienced because the Saints defense assassinated Favre and Warner on the way to high scoring games, whereas Seatlle will crumble in the 1st quarter and score less than 10 points. You'll hear crickets by the 4th quarter.

You stole me thunder with that one. I would like to see how someone could justify the Ravens being ahead of the Steelers.

Ravens lost to Atl, beat the Saints.
Steelers lost to the Saints, beat Atl.

The big difference is that the Steelers lost to the Jets… a playoff team. The Ravens lost to the Bengals… enough said.

*******

Yes we beat the Jets and NO which you both lost to and took NE to OT while you lost to them by 13pts. If you want to delve down into this like the BCS that's fine. Both teams are great and the match-up is always great. We lost to the Bengals yes, a division opponent on the road.. whoop tee do.. If you take care of business at home and split on the road you're 12-4, pretty damn good. But we didn't take care of business against you guys so enjoy that cushy bye week.

“27. Washington Redskins (No. 24; 6-10): We’re sort of rooting for Albert Haynesworth and Donovan McNabb to end up on the same team in 2011. And for that team to win the Super Bowl.”

LOL of course you are, cause you’re unabashed Skins haters.

Only a complete hater and idiot would rather side with Haynesworth than the Redskins. Haynesworth is one of the biggest losers the NFL has ever seen.

But THE AUTHOR (notice you can’t write F****o or else the comment doesn’t get posted) falls into that category.

and Chicago’s offense didn’t cool off? They scored 78 points in their last 2 games. We kept them out of the end zone. CHI-GB is always a defensive struggle.

Yes, but Chicago was playing on the road, with almost zero motivation (beyond the rivalry/knock GB out factor) and running a very, very, very vanilla offense.

Why reveal all their formations and "must-make X number of yards" plays and give their playoff competition more valuable, recent game tape?

And you would think with Matt Forte gaining 91 yards on 15 carries that the Bears keep running it (as they have the past 8 weeks)...but they didn't. Why? Why would they beat Forte up for no reason?

Why else would the offensive play-calling, which WAS about 60-40 run-to-pass (since the bye, running more than any other team), suddenly go to about 85-15 pass-to-run in the second half?

Answer: the Bears wanted the situational experience.
Were the Bears players still TRYING? Yes.
Still playing hard, trying to win? Yes.

But schematically-speaking, in terms of drawing up a game plan, they pulled all their offensive punches.

Nice win for the Pack, but don't kid yourself on that.

But none of this matters. Ravens are a solid team, but IMHO Steelers defense is better overall and their offense is also playing better now. If we meet in the playoffs, it will be a great game, and hopefully the Steelers do what they should do and win. Come to Heinz Field baby.
-----------------------------------
And just like previous games, the winner will win by 5 points or less. There is no better rival in the NFL today. While Pittsburgh has the edge win-wise, they haven't manhandled the Ravens. All-in-all the best entertainment for the buck in all of sports.

Hey faiderrob07, The Chiefs "needeed" the win? What did they need to win for? To play the Jets? Typical raider dumbass.

The Chiefs were in such need of a win they ran Jamaal Charles 25 times? Did he have 20 carries in the 1st qtr? McCluster's abilities were used? Did the Chiefs scheme on D? Did they ever blitz?

Oh that's right, all answers point to no. Meaning the game was meaningless. Could they have at least shown up, sure, did they need to? No!

Are the Chiefs in the playoffs? YES!
Are your faiders? NO!

1st of all let's all keep in mind that power rankings are more about opinion and ego then any substantive importance.

With that being said, logically speaking the Steelers should be ahead of the Ravens for a few simple reasons.

1. They beat them in the most recent head to head game.

2. The Steelers are the AFC North champions.

Other then that, you can debate points, common opponents, higher ranked defenses, etc. . . all day long.

OK, ccoolahan14, I get it. Any game the Steelers won was "rigged", and any game the Ravens lost was "rigged". Thanks for straightening out the entire PFT reading audience.

LOL. Get real. Stop whining and making excuses. Ravens almost lost the last game of the season to a terrible Bengals team. That is really peaking towards the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Steelers demolished bad Carolina and Browns teams. If the starters weren't yanked early in the third quarter, they might have scored 60+ points on the Browns.

But none of this matters. Ravens are a solid team, but IMHO Steelers defense is better overall and their offense is also playing better now. If we meet in the playoffs, it will be a great game, and hopefully the Steelers do what they should do and win. Come to Heinz Field baby.

Preaching to the choir, brohamulus. You should know me well enough by now(formerly ChicagoJo), I figured I wouldn't have to spell out their advantages.

but yes, their speed and athleticism is far more pronounced when they have solid footing and their main scheme is meant to nuetralize an offense's options (in this case, the ground game) and force a one dimensional pass game in the middle of the field, where our playmakers can tackle, contain, tip passes, strip, or attempt a pick.

Problem is, a decent QB like Ryan can eat up the slants and short yardage that we give to them, and with deadly weapons at all skill positions the Bears would have their hands full. I like the chances, but it would probably be on the offense to score more than 21 points and control the clock, which I think they could do. If we make it to the NFC championship, it'll have to be on momentum of an offensive performance similar to week 16, not 17.

What I meant by my comment is since when does PFT recognize things like that? Regardless of what they say here I guarantee you if the 1 and 2 meet in the NFC they pick the Falcons. Probably by 7 points of more.
