Steelers D was definitely more consistent than the Ravens this year.

Uhhh…other than the noise level (which is what you are referring to I presume) the Saints experience at Qwest will be NOTHING like what the Cardinals and Vikings experienced because the Saints defense assassinated Favre and Warner on the way to high scoring games, whereas Seatlle will crumble in the 1st quarter and score less than 10 points. You’ll hear crickets by the 4th quarter.

Yes we beat the Jets and NO which you both lost to and took NE to OT while you lost to them by 13pts. If you want to delve down into this like the BCS that’s fine. Both teams are great and the match-up is always great. We lost to the Bengals yes, a division opponent on the road.. whoop tee do.. If you take care of business at home and split on the road you’re 12-4, pretty damn good. But we didn’t take care of business against you guys so enjoy that cushy bye week.

If He Who Shall Not Be Named is truly a Skins-hater, then it’s a case of SELF-loathing, seeing as how he picked them to go to the Super Bowl last year.

Yes, but Chicago was playing on the road, with almost zero motivation (beyond the rivalry/knock GB out factor) and running a very, very, very vanilla offense.

Why reveal all their formations and “must-make X number of yards” plays and give their playoff competition more valuable, recent game tape?

And you would think with Matt Forte gaining 91 yards on 15 carries that the Bears keep running it (as they have the past 8 weeks)…but they didn’t. Why? Why would they beat Forte up for no reason?

Why else would the offensive play-calling, which WAS about 60-40 run-to-pass (since the bye, running more than any other team), suddenly go to about 85-15 pass-to-run in the second half?

Answer: the Bears wanted the situational experience.
Were the Bears players still TRYING? Yes.
Still playing hard, trying to win? Yes.

But schematically-speaking, in terms of drawing up a game plan, they pulled all their offensive punches.

Nice win for the Pack, but don’t kid yourself on that.

But none of this matters. Ravens are a solid team, but IMHO Steelers defense is better overall and their offense is also playing better now. If we meet in the playoffs, it will be a great game, and hopefully the Steelers do what they should do and win. Come to Heinz Field baby.

And just like previous games, the winner will win by 5 points or less. There is no better rival in the NFL today. While Pittsburgh has the edge win-wise, they haven’t manhandled the Ravens. All-in-all the best entertainment for the buck in all of sports.

The Chiefs were in such need of a win they ran Jamaal Charles 25 times? Did he have 20 carries in the 1st qtr? McCluster’s abilities were used? Did the Chiefs scheme on D? Did they ever blitz?

With that being said, logically speaking the Steelers should be ahead of the Ravens for a few simple reasons.

1. They beat them in the most recent head to head game.

2. The Steelers are the AFC North champions.

Other then that, you can debate points, common opponents, higher ranked defenses, etc. . . all day long.

LOL. Get real. Stop whining and making excuses. Ravens almost lost the last game of the season to a terrible Bengals team. That is really peaking towards the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Steelers demolished bad Carolina and Browns teams. If the starters weren’t yanked early in the third quarter, they might have scored 60+ points on the Browns.

The raiders stumbled against EIGHT teams to be exact, which makes them THIRD in our division…in what world is THIRD place better than the FIRST place Chiefs?? Apparently in Raider nation where convicts run free.

Preaching to the choir, brohamulus. You should know me well enough by now(formerly ChicagoJo), I figured I wouldn’t have to spell out their advantages.

but yes, their speed and athleticism is far more pronounced when they have solid footing and their main scheme is meant to nuetralize an offense’s options (in this case, the ground game) and force a one dimensional pass game in the middle of the field, where our playmakers can tackle, contain, tip passes, strip, or attempt a pick.

Problem is, a decent QB like Ryan can eat up the slants and short yardage that we give to them, and with deadly weapons at all skill positions the Bears would have their hands full. I like the chances, but it would probably be on the offense to score more than 21 points and control the clock, which I think they could do. If we make it to the NFC championship, it’ll have to be on momentum of an offensive performance similar to week 16, not 17.

What I meant by my comment is since when does PFT recognize things like that? Regardless of what they say here I guarantee you if the 1 and 2 meet in the NFC they pick the Falcons. Probably by 7 points of more.
