I think it was a combination of losing 5 games to teams we should have beat, and Cable saying over and over again, “You can’t call us losers anymore”.

Davis saw Cable setting the bar too low, in my opinion.

I would take John Fox, Jon Gruden, Jim Fassel over a college coach any day of the week. Even coordinators turn out to have more successful careers than college coaches…I don’t get it.

I don’t think you can fault PFT or anyone else on this one except, perhaps, Michigan.

Pre-Monday, UMich alumni obviously did their part to feed the beast, However, UMich admins continue to dither (on RR’s status), allowing it to starve.

So, you’re left with the inexplicable possibility of Jim Harbaugh, 49er. But if you’re going to San Francisco, be sure to bear a quarterbacking heir.

Although I agree that there is an almost non-existent chance that Jim ends up at UM, I don’t think his brother’s statements the morning after Stanford’s bowl game means much. First of all, it’s doubtful that he had talked to his brother yesterday morning. Secondly, he said that he ‘thinks’ the Michigan thing is done, and that he doesn’t know what Jim is going to do. Also, John isn’t dumb. I’m sure that he understands that he was asked to comment on a job that wasn’t available. Maybe I’m wrong, but this seems like some shaky evidence to tout as truth.
