Kevin Curtis joins the Chiefs

Kevin Curtis’ abbreviated return to the NFL in December will get extended into the playoffs.

The Chiefs signed Kevin Curtis to their active roster Wednesday, added Cody Slate to the practice squad and placed S/CB on Donald Washington on injured reserve.

Curtis joins the team as their sixth receiver.  The move could be an effort to cheaply own Curtis’ rights in 2011 since he doesn’t figure to be a factor — or even active — for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.

  1. Curtis should fit well into this team as a YAC guy with good hands and a veteran. He’s essentially Pioli’s poor Welker.

  2. im really glad to see it, he of all people deserves a second chance. he is, shockingly enough, the first white WR to crack 1k yards since drew bennett and brandon stokley. KC is a good fit for him.

  3. Good for him! I wan hoping the Giants were going to pick him up a few years ago when he went to the Eagles. I was hoping that he was going to sign with the Giants when Nicks and Smith were both hurt and Curtis was looking to come back.

Best of Luck Kevin! and welcome back!!! What a great story it will be if he makes a dynamic play to change the game!

  4. Nice !!! K.Curtis is a good dude … really felt bad for him when he was here in Philly, he just couldn’t get and stay healthy …
    Much success to him !!!

  5. He seems like a great slot guy if he still has his speed. Is it me or is KC starting to gather quite a bit of offense talent. McCluster, Charles, Bowe, Chambers, and Thomas. I know they have some TE named Moeaki but I only know that from Fantasy Football. Not sure if he is any good. Maybe some KC fans can enlighten me.
