Kevin Curtis’ abbreviated return to the NFL in December will get extended into the playoffs.

The Chiefs signed Kevin Curtis to their active roster Wednesday, added Cody Slate to the practice squad and placed S/CB on Donald Washington on injured reserve.

Curtis joins the team as their sixth receiver. The move could be an effort to cheaply own Curtis’ rights in 2011 since he doesn’t figure to be a factor -- or even active -- for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.
