Rookies starting at BOTH WR spots, both OG spots, the lead RB.. That’s 5 rookies starting on offense led by a 22 year old QB.

Then on D, they lost 3 DL starters to IR, their best LB starter to IR, their best CB to IR, their two best Safeties to IR.. and yet they kept winning…

Despite giving starts to mid season pickup Frank Okam (cut by defensively horrible Texans and Seahawks within the past year, waiver rookie DT Al Woods, rookie LB Dekoda Watson, 1st year former 7th round CB EJ Biggers, free agent pickup from Cincy FS Corey Lynch…

When the Bucs finished the season, they were starting an entirely different DL from the one they had at late as week 4, 1 of 3 LBs, and 2 of 4 DBs…. that’s 7 new starters by the end of the season… not to mention 4 of the 5 starters on the OLine were different as well….

Morris doesn’t deserve the Coach of the Year award, he deserves so much more than that… he is a freaking miracle worker.

The Saints were scoreboard watching … Falcons were killing the Panthers and had the game in the bag which meant even if the Saints won or lost … they could not win the division.
It’s funny how once the score became 21-0 Falcons … the Saints gave up their 7-3 lead 5 minutes later and never gave a 100% effort.

And yes the Bucs had an EASY schedule the two games Atlanta played were against the Eagles and Packers (both playoff teams) while the Bucs got the 2 last place teams (Lions and Redskins) and would have lost both games if it wasn’t for a high snap.

The most productive turn around were the Buccaneers +7, not the Chiefs +6.

Tampa Played 7 games vs team with winning records winning 1. Chiefs played just 3 games vs teams with winning records winning 1. With loses to Oakland(twice), Denver, Houston. Tampa only lose to a losing team was Detroit.

Clearly the Chiefs played a far softer schedule not the bucs.

Too many people are focusing on missing the playoffs in 2010 (at 10-6, the first team to miss the playoffs with such a mark in almost two decades, along with the Giants).

He took the Chiefs from worst to 1st making them division winners and in the playoffs….. He didn’t fall short and get eliminated from competition like Morris did…… If Morris was so good then surely he should have beaten more teams like the Saints and Falcons playing such an easier schedule….. Losing to the Lions, scrapping by the Rams by 1 point and struggling against the Redskins barely getting the win.

Tampa has no Pro-Bowler.
No players for the NFL world who has an upper impact, and with a lot of rookie or young guys, waived guys, undrafted guys, Morris helped to make this team very competitive.

QB Freeman, 2nd year QB, is a Top 10 QB.
RB Blount, undraft rookie,a 1000yds RB, really playing only in 11 games.
WR Williams, 4th round rookie, almost 1000yds and 11TD

Second half of season, Tampa put almost 2 starters/game on IR and keep winning games.

Sure there are 6 losses.

2 bigs against Steelers and Saints, but that was not the real Tampa Bay Bucs, Cadillac Williams was the starter RB, and on this 2 games, his stats was 16 run for 31yds.

Since Blount starts, all defeats were close (1 play loss).
1 yard at Atlanta, 1 TD at Baltimore, an awful miss tackle on kickoff return against Atlanta and an official error against Detroit.

Tampa plays at the Atlanta, New Orleans or Baltimore Level, and without the official bad call against Detroit, Tampa would be in playoffs.

I mean, really, when you look at the number of first and second year players on the Patriots, the improvements in the defense over the course of the season and the fact that they completely redesigned the offense over the course of a bye week, is there any argument? 14-2 from a team that most expected wouldn’t even win the division is a hell of a feat.

Let’s look at the numbers: Buccaneers started 11 rookies this year and played 25. Freeman started 8 games coming into this year.

Pats may not have been picked by SOME to not win the division, but almost every one had them as a playoff team. They went 10-6 last year, so really only improved by 4 games.

Chiefs and Buccaneers had the same record this year. Had the Bucs played in either west not only would they have made the playoffs they would have won the division. Bucs won 7 more games this year, Chiefs won 6.

No one outside of Tampa could name a buc’s starter before the year started. Everyone knew Brady, Wilfork, Welker, Cassel, Bowe, Charles.

No team EVER has played 25 rookies and had a winning year until now.

For those you keep saying the Buccaneers played an easy schedule let’s look at those numbers too.

Pats and Bucs played 7 playoff teams, Chiefs played 2 and 1 was the Seahawks. They played the Colts in week 5 since then nothing.

I would hope someone already pointed this out to mr xofootball (didn’t read all comments), but no starters were sitting in the second half. NO was trying to win the game. Brees came out in the 4th quarter when the saints were already down. NO brought their best game and got beat when home field was possibly on the line.

Funny because Atlanta had the same schedule. So did New Orleans. Are they knocked down because they feasted upon the same clubs? Nahh, that would conflict with your narrative and get in the way of a half-assed rant.

This is a team that so many people pegged to go 2-14 at best – maybe because Raheem and the boys made you “expert prognosticators” look so silly is what really has you miffed.

It isnt just because they played rookies. They played low and undrafted rookies and players who languished on the scrap heap because of a disgusting array of injuries and STILL contended until the final week (so don’t tell me that final game in New Orleans was meaningless – starters may have been pulled late but other players like Jenkins and Ivory got beaten up). Raheem took a team that many people pegged to have a disastrous season and had them narrowly miss the playoffs, and would have made it had the NFL not botched the call vs. Detroit.

You can make a case for Haley and even Spags if you want but you’re looking like a fool if you try to dismiss Raheem’s case.

The Saints didn’t rest their starters for most of the second half. They took Breese out with 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter…and they were BEHIND by a TD. Ignorant comments like that prove that you have no credibility.
I think it’s honestly Morris or Belichick. Both have made their case, and I think Morris will win because New England does this every year. While that isn’t fair, if they had Coach of the Century, it would be called the Bill Belichick award.
