The Broncos will not be interviewing Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey on Friday after all.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Mularkey has informed the Broncos he will not make the interview on Friday. He will, however, still go through with his previously scheduled interview Saturday with the Browns.
Mularkey hasn’t totally closed the door on the Broncos, but he has apparently decided that he doesn’t want to do back-to-back interviews while he’s also preparing the game plan for the Falcons’ first playoff game. He scheduled his interview with the Browns first and will go through with that one, but the Broncos would have to wait until the Falcons’ postseason is over.
And maybe by the time the Falcons’ postseason is over, Broncos front office boss John Elway will have learned what Mularkey’s first name is.
