Schefter has been wrong, but not often. No one expected Marvin Lewis to be back, not even Marvin Lewis. I mean the guy interviewed for other HC jobs.

Adam Schefter’s accuracy is an issue. He reported earlier this week that Marvin Lewis would not be returning as the coach in Cincinnati, and that’s not the first example of his goofs. He’s so eager to be the first to tweet out a scoop that he doesn’t always bother with trying to verify – just takes what his “source” tells him and runs with it.

Just saying that I take Schefter’s reports with a grain of salt. He’s been dead wrong before.

personally I don’t think the guy can handle being a head coach anyway…and if he does get a gig it will be someplace where the expectations of the fans are low, what better place than Cleveland!

I would bail too if the guy in charge didn’t know my first name. It shows Elway doesn’t know much about him, which means Mularkey’s not a serious candidate.

Why take focus away from the playoffs and the Browns gig when you’re chances are slim in Denver?

Broncos should now cross Mularkey off their list (not that he should have been on the list in the first place). Move on and consider other candidates, preferably a defensive-minded coach–maybe some of the candidates from two years ago.

This likely eliminates “Mark” from the Denver job because Elwood said he wants to have the new coach picked out within a couple weeks. Atlanta would have to lose its first game for that to happen.

This guy is a turd of monumental proportions. The word “Quitter” comes to mind, and any organization that would even look at him as head coaching material better think twice. The guy quit as head coach of The Bills, and then blamed his quitting on his kids getting bullied at school for the Bills sucking that season..The guy actually blamed his shortcomings/inability to effectively coach on his kids being Wussies! Yes-The Bills organization/ownership was a total mess at the time, but no one quits as an NFL head coach. He should NEVER get another sniff as head coach. Quitter!

As a Falcons fan, I appreciate Mularkey putting the Falcons game plan ahead of his own self interests. I’m not sure if this is the best decision for him personally, but I think any Falcon fan who wondered whether MM would be focused can rest assured now.
