Darren Sharper back in the spotlight

D. Sharper

With the Saints’ excellent free safety Malcom Jenkins back in the mix, Darren Sharper is back in the spotlight again for the Saints.

Sharper gathered Defensive MVP votes last year, but has been a rotational backup this season following offseason microfracture surgery.  Jenkins’ Pro Bowl-caliber play made it easy to play it safe with Sharper.

The presence of Sharper matching wits with Matt Hasselbeck gives this game a bit of an old school flavor.   Jo-Lunn Dunbar will start at linebacker for Danny Clark, who is hurt.

The Saints had no major surprises on their inactive list and the Seahawks didn’t have anyone hurt in the first place.  New Orleans will have three running backs active: Reggie Bush, Julius Jones, and DeShawn Wynn.  Joique Bell is inactive.

Sharper is always in the spotlight during the playoffs. He always gives up big plays leading to a loss.
