In a development that probably says less about Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez than it does about the state of the franchise in the decades before his arrival, Saturday night’s win over the Colts gave the second-year quarterback the most postseason wins in team history.

With three playoff victories in 2009 and 2010 combined, Sanchez emerged from a three-way tie with Joe Namath, Chad Pennington, and Richard Todd.

Pat Ryan and Vinny Testaverde have the other postseason victories for the Jets.

In other words, the Jets have won only 11 playoff games in franchise history. Who knows? Maybe they’ll add to that total by three this time.

As we all learned Saturday in Seattle, stranger things are happening all the time.
