Saints’ Thomas, Ivory to visit Dr. Anderson; Bush ailing

reggieBush

Two days after the Saints’ season came to an end, coach Sean Payton offered an update on his three running backs who are dealing with injuries.

Jeff Duncan of the Times-Picayune reports that Payton said Chris Ivory will undergo foot surgery with Dr. Robert Anderson and that Anderson will also evaluate Pierre Thomas’s ankle.

Payton also said Reggie Bush, who left the playoff loss to the Seahawks, wouldn’t have been able to return this week if the Saints had advanced in the playoffs. Payton said Bush would have had to miss 2-3 weeks. So Bush probably wouldn’t have been able to play again this postseason unless the Saints had reached the Super Bowl.

Of course, Bush might not play for the Saints ever again.
