How about going after a proven offensive guy rather than another cowboy reject. McDaniels (yeah, there will be some issues), Leach or even, ugh...Childress would be better suited for this job. The Dolphins need to fix their offensive woes quickly before the defense starts to fade again. I would like to see them have a competent defense and a competent offense at the same time for a change.

Judd (not Jeb) Garrett is director of pro scouting for the cows...he was formerly a TE coach (surprise!) at St. Louis before he was let go in 2007...so probably if brother John rolls out, Jason will stick brother Judd in as TE coach...there is another brother, Jim, III, that is an english teacher and unsuccessful high school football coach. Not a real creative bunch with the names.

Anyone who joins this staff goes in knowing itis a 1 year deal as the Ringleader Stephen Ross will be looking to bring in another HC for what has become a circus of an NFL franchise next season.

========

Sure, but think about it. The new OC would get a multi year deal (usually 3-4 years) and, if he's let go after one year, they still owe him the balance of the contract. So, he gets a boatload of money (relatively speaking) AND he has 1 year of OC experience to sell. Probably a win win.

If memory serves me correctly there is a 3rd brother, Jed Garrett, who played RB while Jason was a QB... I'm sure he'd be happy to coach in the NFL instead of using his Ivy League education to make a measly salary (when compared to the salaries in the NFL).
