New York Post steps up game for playoffs

RexFeetcover

There’s really not much we can add to Sunday’s New York Post cover to the right, so we’ll just display it in all its glory.

Keep in mind this is the front page of the paper, not the cover of the sports section.

The tabloids have come out swinging in the playoffs, and the Jets came through with a fine effort in Indianapolis.

It’s up to Rex’s team to match the Post’s intensity on Sunday.

Why couldn’t Rex have liked Boobs??

  2. joerevs300 says: Jan 16, 2011 9:59 AM

Wow. Only in New York LOL :)

Well Rex, look at it this way:

You can have all the fun you want with feet after you’re peeling off the cleat marks that Tom Brady and the Pats are going to lay all over your team.

    And yeah…the misses’ too.

Regardless of what goes down today the Steelers can’t beat New England on the road and the Jets beat them at their house three weeks ago. So the winner of this game goes to the Super Bowl.

Note to the editor NY Sunday Post, Bart Scott will be coming for you! He don’t like it when you pick on his Coach!
Is that actually Rex’s wife’s foot? I guess we know what Rex had for breakfast….

We also know what he’ll be having for supper. Humble Pie and lot’s of it!!!

  5. commoncents says: Jan 16, 2011 10:07 AM

This should be the last day we have to hear from the Jets for a loong time…I mean, except for all the arrests…

  6. jjmurphy1127d says: Jan 16, 2011 10:07 AM

If the Pats get a chance today, they will not only try to win convincingly, but run it up ala 45-3 or what happened to Joe Gibbs and the Skins in 07. Just a feeling – win of course whether it be by 42, 2, or 1 points, but there will no mercy today if they get up big.

Jets have demonstrated that they can dish it out, but based upon reaction to Welker comments, can;t take it. We’ll see for sure today.

BTW – imagine the reaction if BB said it was about him and Rex Rayan today? People would be all over that in a negative way and I can’t imagine the Pats players liking that. So how is Rex this master motivator? It is about the coaches, but it also very much about the players and that’s might not be a good thing either for Jets this afternoon. If Jets lose, it will be interesting to see what leaks from that locker room tonight/tomorrow/this week.

Well there’s some logic for you. Guess there’s no reason to play the AFC Championship game next week. Might as well “crown the ass” of the winner of this game then right?

I hope you don’t bet the way you assume…

  8. geauxjay says: Jan 16, 2011 10:13 AM

Why does the mass media think that 49 other states actually give a damn about what’s on the back cover of a New York tabloid?

Please stop telling us about everything that happens in New York City. We don’t care.

  9. alexr215 says: Jan 16, 2011 10:18 AM

    Stay classy, NY.

    New England-19

    @ geauxjay

you said it! What is this the 20s? New York’s time has come and passed. Sports wise I guess they’re still good..I actually think the Jets will win this one..just like when all the sheep yesterday picked the ravens/steelers game as a 3pt difference..once that happened you know it wasn’t gonna be like that.

    Jets win 27-24

  12. sterilizecromartie says: Jan 16, 2011 10:26 AM

Lol. I read on some other forums where NYJ fans were calling Welker “unprofessional” or “disrespectful” for taking jabs at Ryan’s personal problems during his press conference. I can’t stand these type of people. The freakin’ New York Post is taking jabs at Ryan’s personal problems! It’s all fair game now.

  13. phillyjeff says: Jan 16, 2011 10:26 AM

NY Post is the lowest type of journalism, if you can even call it journalism.

I hope the Pats roll the Jets again.

    Screw NY

  14. footballisfun says: Jan 16, 2011 10:26 AM

    That’s a nice looking foot.

  15. sterilizecromartie says: Jan 16, 2011 10:28 AM

    @ geaxjay

Um, we do care what is on the cover of the NY Post when it is something as hilarious as this.

    @ alexr

I think the “thumbs down” icon was implemented specifically for people who still use the “stay classy” comment.

uh dean, maybe you missed it, but when the jets barely beat the steelers the steelers were playing without their best football player.

if troy was playing that day the jets werent winning that gamw. moot point though because the steelers will be playing in foxborough next week.

    @ geauxjay:

Unlike you…. there are many things that happen in NY that interest many across the globe. Not including sports there are many financial, social, entertainment, and economic reasons that millions DO CARE….If you dont like it dont listen!…Your opinion does’nt change FACTS.

  18. pastabelly says: Jan 16, 2011 10:48 AM

Even if the Patriots win today, the Jets and their obnoxious coach won’t shut up and that is truly the only really sad thing about today.

After the Jets lose, do you think they will photoshop a foot into Rex’s mouth?

Or perhaps a crow into Antonio’s?

Jets lose big today. All you Jets fans better get your excuses lined up.

I wonder if Bart Scott is threatening to end the careers of the editors at the Post.

  24. slickster35 says: Jan 16, 2011 10:56 AM

    Nothing classy about the Jests.

I won’t miss the end of another failed season for NYs embarrassing step child.

  25. lowleadman says: Jan 16, 2011 11:24 AM

I think the Pats sto;p the run, run the ball effectivel themselves, and that will open up the middle of the field for Tom to exploit. And exploit it he will. Tom will be focused like a razor at the Razor and no mercy will be shown to Jabba the Jet and his band of hoodlums.

    55-7

  26. bspurloc says: Jan 16, 2011 11:28 AM

    .

this is why toeasaurus rex rules!!!!

everyone better fear the jets going to the super bowl because it will be really foot worthy

    160 2

That is so freakin’ EPIC! I hope the Elias Sports Bureau takes note of that current 160-2 margin as the greatest favorable comment spread in the modern Super Bowl era.

  28. ihateannouncers says: Jan 16, 2011 11:38 AM

That ‘s over the top even for the post. Way to embarrass your head coach on the morning of his/your teams biggest game of the year.

  29. mistrezzrachael says: Jan 16, 2011 11:39 AM

I happen to think Rexy enjoys eating food off of pretty toes…is why he cannot control his weight.

Would have been more appealing had they posted a photo of narly toes laden w/nail fungus…..right up Rexys appetite.

Rexy is a clown..who belongs in a circus..All thats missing is his tent. Most ‘real’ men know what I’m alluding to.

Wonder if his wife surfs ALT.com during the game…never know, Terrell Suggs available as a 3rd now.

I want to know who the two wackjobs are who gave thumbs-down to the “Why couldn’t Rex have liked Boobs??” comment. You should be prohibited from watching football until your man-cards are restored.

  38. igottz5onit says: Jan 16, 2011 12:34 PM

Right now it is 217 – 3, maybe a foreshadowing of the score of the game today?

  39. iwishiwasindc says: Jan 16, 2011 12:47 PM

Let’s not assume that all of us posters are men…as my Dad’s designated son, I was privileged to watch Larson, Cousey, Y.A, Brown, etc, on the old black and white. My lady-card thinks the “Boobs” is a great post!

  40. romoscollarbone says: Jan 16, 2011 1:44 PM

That foot is def not Rex’s wife’s, it’s def a young woman’s foot. And a very nice one at that. I don’t lick toes, but nice feet usually mean other parts of the body are kept, just as nice.

  41. cleverbob says: Jan 16, 2011 1:54 PM

The NY Post is a joke of a newspaper.
