When T.O. signed with the Bengals, everyone thought that was the missing piece needed to put them into the Superbowl. The Browns meanwhile resisted the “quick fix” and passed on T.O., even though they desperately need WR’s.

Big Mike and the Browns could have kept Ryan, and probably would have, IF HE WERE ANY GOOD. Hell, they still have to pay him either way. Keep in mind, he was hired by Mangenius and let go by the “BROWNS!”

I believe Rob and the Cowboys are a good fit. However, thinking he will be what “cures” the Cowboys, well, let’s just say, “Time will tell.” I believe he will be a “T.O.” and not a “T.K.O.”

Congrats Rob Most of us cleveland fans will miss you! The D was Great at times and fell apart at others. I think he can get too fired up during games and get burned on some of his overly aggressive calls. Overall his players play hard for him and he brings a nice swagger to the sidelines as well as the best mullet in the NFL (since Ben Roethisberger had to cut his when he had “the meeting with Goodell regarding his latest accusation) Anyways good luck Rob !

I just dont understand what some of you people write. Rob Ryan is a good defensive coordinator…probably a reason you know who he is. I know I couldn’t name most teams defensive coordinators but I know him. And everyone acts like the Cowboys need some serious rebuilding. They don’t; but this high draft pick will help them. Expect them to compete with the Eagles next year for atops the NFC East. (Im an Eagles fan)

Know the issues and concerns set forth in all comments. Point is that there definitely is need for a HUGE change in attitude in Dallas D. Also need to upgrade in DB’s. We’ll see how this all plays out.

You can make fun of Rob all you want but this guy knows defense. The RAIDERS and BROWNS SUCKED ON OFFENSE the defense was worn down by the end of games.The prevent defense did not stop the Raiders from winning your offense did.

The Cowboys shouldn’t feel like they settled. Rob Ryan is a good coach and did a lot with a mediocre roster in Cleveland.

He’ll do well and that underachieving Cowboys defense will be really, really good in 2011.

The cowboys have a good defense already, they played poorly last yr as a group…they do need to upgrade the inside LBers, get some competition in at CB but with Jerry calling the shots he probably drafts a RB or WR with the first pick, thats what the cowboy fans should be worried about and not Ryan as DC, hes good enough to succeed with the talent already there……

(continued from my 1st post) …the Browns games last year? The defense laid down constantly in the 2nd half. They would just quit… No 2nd half adjustments. Zone D towards the end, letting the opposition back into the game and blowing leads every week. Put teams into 3rd and long all day and then let them right out of it… Ridiculous.

People will say “Oh well that was Cleveland. He’ll do some things differently on a new team.” Like he did in Oakland? His defense did the exact same things in Oakland. Exactly. To the letter.

All I can say is have fun this coming year when you’re up 20-10 at the start of the 4th quarter and feelijng good about the soon-to-come win, because you’ll probably end up losing ’cause Ryan’s defenses luuuuvvv to quit in the 3rd/4th quarters. It’s a fact….

Love the naysayers out here….love the Prevent Defense comments…Ryan has NEVER had a talent like DeMarcus Ware to work with….he has only had 2 pro bowlers in Shaun Rogers and Nnamdi A…..he now has 5 on the Dallas defense and a young talented Sean Lee….as a Cowboys fan I have been begging for the D to get more aggressive and after what I saw when I watched some Browns game this year…..this D will be more fired up and more aggressive.

Now need to cut Allan Ball and draft Patrick Peterson!

Just about every time someone writes something about the Cowboys they feel obligated to mention how much “talent” the Cowboys have……….yet there are also so many pieces written by the same people who are enamored with the theory that the Cowboys suck because Jerry Jones is the GM.

Which is it? If they have so much talent, how can the GM be the problem?
