Wow... To the genius's that are saying " Why would they want to even have LT back?"
Well as a die hard Jet fan I believe bringing LT back is a MUST. This guy might be the most level headed guy in the NFL, and on a team like the Jets with all of the talented knuckleheads they have, thats just what they need.
And to the post about where was he vs the steelers?
Hm... I dont know, maybe he had a similar game like much of the other running backs vs the number 1 rush defense.
Call me crazy but I also remember LT having a touchdown in this game? Also, shotteinheimers coaching helped no running back out on the Jets this week.

This is what happens when you build a team to win "right now." You either win it all now, or enter rebuilding mode the day after you are eliminated.

The Jets built a heck of a team last year, and then managed to build another, different good team, this year. Can they do it three years in a row? Difficult to say, especially since no one knows what the market will look like, with no labor agreement yet in place.

Meanwhile teams like the Patriots build up a core of players to keep the team good for many years. Next year they will certainly be good, and it is almost certain they will be better than they were this year.

The Jets got the best of them this year. However, the Jets will look a lot different next year, and probably not for the better. New England will look a lot like they did this year, only those young players will have another year under their belts working together.

NE has a good core of young players. Their drafts over the past two years have been excellent. This team was very much in building mode, and yet still ended up with the best regular season record in the league.

Oh, and add to that they have six picks in the first three rounds next year, with three of those picks being in the top 33. They have the ability to own this draft. Hopefully we will have a labor agreement by then. A rookie salary scale would be a great thing to have for the Patriots, who will be able to move around the draft board anywhere they like, to get any player they want.

NE may not have gotten to the SB this year, but they will definitely be in the running for the next three to four years, at least. Here in NE we would love for Brady to get five rings. Hopefully he will, and go down in history as the best QB to ever play the game, no debate needed!

Who cares about just the core? That core didn't win you rings the last 2 years, did it? At the end of the year, 75% of your safeties, 75% of your WR's, Ellis, 40% of your CB's, Taylor, LT likely, etc....are all FA's

We are talking about 45% of the roster being a FA of some kind or another. You must live in La La Land LOL

With limited draft picks & a recent poor history of drafting, who cares about your core? Your core doesn't win superbowls. Teams who do their talking ON the field do, not criminals off it.

There was no cap last yr and noone knows if there will be one/what it will be once the CBA finally gets done. So maybe whoever we decide not to keep can go to your bum squad and try to help them out. You can have our sloppy seconds.

And I never said anything about minimum salary dumbass. Ever hear of a player taking less $ to stay with a team bc they like it there?

Nyjay, have you ever heard of a salary cap? Apparently not. I'm sure when the Jets can't afford to sign all those guys, they'll all just offer to sign minimum salary contracts to stay Jets. LMAO

However, in your post, this was the funniest thing you said: Our core is not leaving, that’s just wishful thinking from jealous fans who want to see the Jets fail.

We don't have to wish for them to fail, that's all they've done since 1969!!

Noone is going anywhere unless we decide not to keep them. Every player on the jets loves being a jet. Our core is not leaving, that's just wishful thinking from jealous fans who want to see the Jets fail.

Are you kidding me?? That Jets W in New England was one of the biggest wins in franchise history. It was THE most watched divisional game in AFC playoff history. The whole world watched the Jets annihilate the Pats, and we still get no respect. Just hate and jealousy from the rest of the league and it's fans. I can't wait to see what Tanny pulls off this offseason. Whatever he does I know there's gonna be some serious hate that follows, followed by trash talk by us, and play that backs it up. Everyones mad because we talk crap, but we back it up. Like Rex said...criticize all you want, but you really have no right to.

For all your big talk, as a fan, you have a lot to learn about what really matters in the NFL.

Bottom line is, since your squad lost yesterday, since the Jets won't be playing in the Super Bowl and definitely won't be Super Bowl champs, your win over NE really means nothing. Squat. As meaningful as 45-3. Irrelevant in the big picture. Think Pats fans give a damn about beating your sorry squad in the 2006 playoffs? Or beating Jax and SD to make it to SB 42? Not a chance.

History will judge the 2010 Jets as an embarrassing affront to sportsmanship, class and humility. Other than that, in 5-10 years, there will be nothing else to remember this team by.

Yes, we run the AFC East. You can win every Regular season game u want, but 2 Yrs in a row we played to represent the AFC in the champ, not the pats. Beat us 100-0 in the reg season if u want, we’ll keep winning when it counts an keep ending your season :)
====================================

In case you hadn't noticed, there are no 2nd place trophies in sports. Where are the accolades for losing a title game 2 years in a row?

In the NFL, there is 1 Champ & 31 chumps. You have joined the masses of 31 other teams. Losing a championship game & not making the playoffs equates to the same thing...FAILURE.

But, you can keep on thinking you've accomplished more the last 2 years than the Benglas, Lions & Browns have but, you haven't. Whatever you need to help you sleep at night.

And to all the idiots talking about bad draft picks and buying players…

Why hate on Mike Tannenbaum and the Jets for making moves to make us better?
=================================

How did he make you better? You now have a team who barely made it to the playoffs two years in a row & now almost it's entire core of players is about to leave via FA.

And for what? 2 Lost AFC Championship game appearances? Do you think you'll be better next year with 1/3 of your team set to leave?

Lmao I'm loving this hate. Thanks guys keep it coming :). And I'll say it again...you can have your reg season AFC East crown. We'll win when it counts.

The fact of the matter is that Pats fans are disgruntled because they know the truth. You guys have done nothing but choke since the biggest choke in NFL history in '07. And all we've done is get better, more respect, and reach the AFC Championship game back to back, with a young squad and a rookie coach/QB.

JETS 2012 SUPER BOWL CHAMPS !!

in football you cant buy a championship and rex ryan proved that, not lets see how he rebuilds, we all know how the pats do it, 14-2 in thier rebuilding year good luck jets and the bills should be thanking you for allowing them some competition for last place in the afc east

u got me my mistake on mangold, didnt see the new details of his contract

u must feel a lot better now that you are only gonna lose cromartie, either edwards or holmes, taylor will retire, they might not pick up LT's option, and lose another 4-5 good players since the jets have more then half thier team as free agents.

good luck with filling all those players with your picks (3in the first 4 rounds)

"To the pats fan and his elaborate theory of the Jets downfall…wishful thinking. We went into your house, in the playoffs after you ran your mouths and beat the ever living crap out of you. Your QB is a product of Belichick’s system, and Belichick is a product of years of taping and studying other teams practices. Your QB, coach, and ring are all a fraud. And we run the AFC East now. Deal with it."
^^^^^
- No, "you" didn't come into our house and beat the ever living crap out of "us". Your team played the game of its life and defeated a flat, uninspired Patriots team.

- Brady is a product of Belichick's system? What's next, Montana was a product of Walsh's system? Dan Marino was a product of Shula's system? Wow, guess you got us there. Seeing as how Brady and Belichick have at least another 4-5 years in New England, I guess us Patriots homers will have to suck it up, bite the bullet and deal with our "system QB"

- Interesting how Brady, Belichick and their rings are all a "fraud". Other than disgruntled, ill-informed fans, I haven't heard a single respected person with credibility within the game (i.e. GM's, coaches, analysts) offer this assessment.

- Apparently "you" run the AFC East now? Fascinating. Last I checked, the Jets don't haven't won an AFC East division crown since 2002. As such, could you please clarify how "you" now run the AFC East? Thanks

I'd rather wait 40 Yrs to win a ring and do it the right way then cheat and win.

And to all the idiots talking about bad draft picks and buying players...

Why hate on Mike Tannenbaum and the Jets for making moves to make us better? Isnt that what a GM is supposed to do? Your teams could've made every move we did, but didnt have the balls to. Some teams did, but weren't as successful (Ravens - Boldin, Dolphins - Marshall). If you honestly believe the Jets have had bad drafts, you don't understand football. Those posts are just idiotic.

Like I said earlier though, keep the hate coming, cuz just like this yr and last yr, were gonna keep winning, and you're gonna keep watching. We must be doing something right.

Congrats! It doesn't change the fact that the Jets have acquired 2 players in 2 years of drafting with Fat Ryan as coach.

It also doesn't change the fact that Mangini's drafts were stellar and since Ryan came in, they have stunk. Considering Sanchez is only good half the season, in each of his first 2, there really is nothing to write home about.
