As a die-hard Jets fan, the only thing that really makes me angry is baseless comments like this. How many full length pressers of Rex Ryan’s or any other Jet have you listened to?

Or do you just listen to the clips the media chops up and posts on sites like this?

Many of the people on here don’t look any further than what they read as headlines…

People don’t want honesty, they want something to they can make into hate.

Rex is emotional after losses, but ALWAYS gives credit when it’s due, and when they win he is very humble and classy, try to watch a few full length clips of him talking, always honest and more times than not, true.

I can handle people shoving it my face that my favorite team got outplayed, that we lost and haven’t won in 40+ years, hell I chanted 1918 as much as the next guy at Fenway when the Yankees Suck chants got going (prior to ’04), but the ignorance of many people I hear from is sad.

I’m so glad my parents taught me to really analyze situations and hold my tongue until I knew the facts. Before I get 200 thumbs down, try going and listening to one full length post game or mid week presser of Rex’s

Glad to hear you say that nyclp, I’m a Steelers fan and would have done the same if the Jets would have won. I do beleive the Jets will win the SB sooner than later. I like Ryan, but the guy does have diarrea of the mouth some times. What we have here is a bunch of whiney Pats fans bashing the Jets. Next week they will be after the Steelers, but we all know why that is.

We may want to believe that but the facts don’t quite bear that out. Ernie (Fats) Holmes once shot and wounded a helicopter pilot and continued to play for the Steelers (although one does wonder what opposing quarterbacks thought of that crazy SOB trying to sack them).

The Steelers for years have tried to draft “character” guys but there is no exact test. Their test in 2000 for Plaxico Burress was to leave a message to call back at noon and to see if he was dependable. He called at 12:00 and they drafted him.

I think (but what do I know?) that the Steelers do better than most organizations in avoiding players with known character issues, whether on or off the field. Jeremy Shockey, T.O., Randy Moss, or Albert Haynesworth would never get a sniff with the Steelers.

However, once a player is the organization, the Steelers are probably no different than most NFL teams. The brighter a player’s star shines the more likely they can withstand some off the field issues. A franchise QB is harder to replace than a wide receiver, especially one entering the last year of his contract and facing a 4-game suspension.

Last year when seemingly more than half of Steeler Nation was disgusted at Big Ben and even wanted him gone, aren’t we glad that the Steeler standard of “off the field issues and you’re gone” was not applied to Ben? I am.

If we are to believe what we read, the Steelers were instrumental in pushing for a suspension, not fighting one, believing that a suspension and forced counseling might benefit the player. And we can only hope that it has. Other teams may have fought a suspension, Ben wasn’t charged in a crime after all, and maybe that distinguishes the Steelers from most other NFL teams. But let’s not fool ourselves in believing the Steelers will cut or trade a player at the first whiff of trouble. They won’t.

As a Steeler fan,i know first hand that this guy is a phenomenal receiver,and appreciate all his heroic efforts in Pittsburgh….But in the end,his ridiculous rants on his twitter,facebook,whatever,,failed drug tests,and “one too many “wake and bake” episodes got him run out of of town….

As soon as his team goes down,he starts the yapping and fingerpointing……as talented as he is…the reality is the Steelers were beggin to give this guy away…what does that tell you?

Do not compare yourself to the Giants
We played in 4 NFC championship games and won them all
We played in 4 superbowls and won 3 of 4 that is a 75% win percentage in Superbowls

Of course the jets win percentage is higher at 100% but that being in only 1 superbowl

Ben has spent the past 10 months rectifying his mistakes, growing up, being responsible, becoming a better person, better QB, etc.

Barely making it to the playoffs? Let’s remember one thing – we were in a win and we’re in situation. Just because we got in week 16 doesn’t mean we couldn’t just beat the Bills (like we did) in week 17 to get in. But hey… 45-3 right? While I can’t speak for everyone else when we beat the Pats last week I wasn’t roaming their post-game notes articles and inserting little one liners (as clever as yours is I must say – mixing Football and Baseball: genius!)

Well I can’t disagree on that. And as a Jet fan I know that all this talking by our coach and fans will come back to bite us when they lose. And while losing the AFCCCG twice in a row is tough I was simply pointing out that this is far from an implosion or a melt-down (like dolfans will quickly say it was). Everybody knows in January it’s basically a one-game season and one team has to lose every game (unless you’re in McNabb’s world…). All I’m pointing out is that this loss is far from a meltdown. I also don’t recall making excuses. The Steelers played a better game and had us DOA. Hats off to them and good luck in the SB. We’ll get there some day (hopefully won’t have to wait another 40+ years to get there).

Bottom line: Let’s get real and stop calling this a meltdown and saying the Jets are imploding. I know many of you have waited a long time to come back here and chirp about the Jets but let’s not call this loss something it’s not…

Good for you guys, keep beating your chests about two consecutive AFCCG losses, that’s very impressive. Any season without a SB win is a failure, but when you only have one title from the ’60s to hang your hat on I suppose you’ll grasp at anything.

& Somehow I don’t think Rex Ryan would last too long in a place that wasn’t overflowing with talent say like Buffalo or St Louis. I have a feeling his act is going to grow really old really quickly if he can’t deliver a Lombardi trophy to The Meadowlands.

But seriously, I hope the Jets don’t implode because quite frankly they have a nice team, just not as good as the Steelers. Problem is they can’t seem to keep their mouths shut, either for or against the team. They need to grow up. When the Steelers don’t make it to the Super Bowl (which believe it or not happens at times LOL!), they don’t start bad-mouthing internally. So, Jets, shut up for once and learn from your mistakes.

I also remember at the beginning of the season and for the first couple weeks there where alot of “wait till the locker room implosion”
