Yes, LeBeau is great and a real asset to the team, but he was a terrible HC when he had the shot, so the idea that he’s somehow a fantastic phantom HC is laughable.

Point is, he has had many hurdles and has kept it going and has already equaled the number of Superbowl appearances by Cowher.

And to those of you who think Tomlin doesnt do much coaching during the games because hes not screaming into the headset, its called preparation. If you prepare well and know what you want to do entering the game, then execute, you dont need to be coaching up your coordinators and making adjustments on the fly. This allows him to shadow box and crack jokes with his players without missing a beat.

I think McCarthy will win coach of the year. 15 guys on IR, including his starting RB (Grant) and top playmaker (Finley.) Even as a packers fan, I’m not crazy about MM, but the media is full of him right now. Not sure he deserves it, but we’ll see I guess.

Funny though, it’s just another example of the similarities between these two teams this season. I believe they’re pretty evenly matched, and it should be a good game. I’m going with Packers 27-21, but I give the edge to the Steelers in two important categories — Tomlin has been to the Super Bowl and won’t be wet behind the ears — And Mendenhall, nuff said there. If the Packers can’t overcome those two things, it could #7 for Pittsburgh.

How could 30 people give this a thumbs-up? Tomlin is good, but let’s not get carried away. he didn’t “run” anything in Tampa, he was a secondary coach. And he doesn’t “run” the defense in Pitt either, LeBeau does. Tomlin’s success speaks for itself, no need to embellish it.

Interesting? Not so much. It’s called having Dick Lebeau as a D coordinator. He has made many coaches look good for a long time. I give Tomlin credit but lets be realistic here. If this guy had head coaching aspirations he would be long gone and the Steelers would be struggling with the same inconsistency every other team faces when their good coordinators break for the bright lights. They are so lucky to have him.

That is why, you are over at your house, looking for a job, and Tomlin is going to another super bowl.

He has things like class, values, manhood, thoughtfulness, solid as one can get.

You write down things that make no sense trying to make a great guy look less than that.

You are sorry. Mike Tomlin is beloved in Pittsburgh and people love Mike far more than they liked Cowher. They feel Cowher left too many rings on the table. Mike Tomlin is an example of yet another great hire by the Rooneys. And Dungy was right on this one. I hope Mike Tomlin is there for 20+ more years. He is all that is right with coaching and the NFL. If he wasn’t coaching, he’d be successful in whatever he was doing, that is a fact.

HE’S NOT RUNNING THE DEFENSE!!!!
Can people understand that Dick LeBeau is running the defense, why they are having so much success? I mean they had 3 different QBs in the first four games and they won 3 of them. That’s not offense, that’s defense.
you want an example of how defense help to win? Look at the Eagles. In the playoffs or NFC title game for 5 years, in the playoffs for 8 under Jim Johnson. Took them to 1 Superbowl. The offense was anemic because they didn’t have great playmakers sans McNabb and westbrook. JJ dies, McDermott (his hand-picked succesor) takes over. Gets 1 win last year, and this year even with a great offense couldn’t stop anything.

Defense wins championships, only reason Tomlin won his first one (and thanks to a circus catch by Holmes who is a great reciever) and hopefully he won;t win the second one because of it. I hope they lose. GO PACK!
