Recently, Bengals receiver Terrell Owens said that he’d like to join the Jets. Another receiver with the same last name reportedly is considering an offer to do so.
The Toronto Sun recently reported that CFL wideout Chad Owens is mulling an offer to join the Jets, and that Owens is expected to make a decision soon.
Owens, who plays for the Toronto Argonauts, was the CFL’s special-teams player of the year in 2010.
“The offer is on the table from the Jets, but we are weighing all of our options,” Owens’ agent, Richard Burnoski, told the Sun via e-mail. “It’s a fair offer and Chad has to make the final decision.”
Burnoski said the possibility of a work stoppage is a factor in the decision-making process.
Owens wasn’t one of 18 players who signed futures contracts with the Jets on Wednesday.

where if you can’t negotiate with nfl players why not try the cfl route.
Is Chad Owens widely regarded as a huge b-hole? Because otherwise, he wouldn’t fit in with the Jets.
(Although with the name Chad Owens, he is more likely than not a giant b-hole).
who?
Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens had a baby
Dude, it’s the NFL! If you’ve gotta weigh options between that and the CFL then you’re not very bright. Come over and make a name for yourself. Whose your agent?
Anybody else find it funny that Bengals receivers CHAD Ochocinco and Terrell OWENS have both stated that they wanted to go to the Jets…and a CFL receiver named CHAD OWENS actually got an offer from the Jets?
what exactly is a b-hole? Hahahaha!!!
Geez why are you guys reporting stuff like this… whats going to happen when a player has the last name Favre…. Come on be more like Mort.. report real news..
With the Jets liklely about to lose B. Smith it sounds like a good cheap alternative for the Jets.
The flying pineapple?
He was with the Jags for a few years. Had a habit of attempting to catch punts with his facemask when the lights were on.
He was great in training camp though
Chad Owens (aka “The Flyin’ Hawaiian) is a premier punt returner and was the CFL Special Teams Player of the Year last season. The dude took one to the house on kickoff in two of the three Argo games I attended last season (for a total of 4 altogether for the season), and is the 5th player in CFL history to amass both 1000 punt return and 1000 receiving yards in a single season. Despite his rocky start in the NFL, the guy has matured into a serious player and I’ll be sorry to see him leave Toronto.
Will everybody have to refer to him as C.O.?
He is actually T.O’s Cousin. Surprised no one has mentioned it.
