The body of Brian Reed, brother of Ravens safety Ed Reed, has been recovered from the Mississippi River.
The 26-year-old Brian Reed jumped into the river on January 7 while trying to elude police after he was pulled over on suspicion of driving a stolen car.
“It’s been tough, but God is good. To have found our brother today brings closure and knowing that he’s in a better place,” Ed Reed said.
The Reed family has issued a statement thanking the divers who searched for Brian Reed’s body, as well as the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Department and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Department, who were involved in the search.
