Well the Cardinals were roughly the 21st best team in the league with the fourth worst defense in 2008. Meanwhile the Pack are arguably the second best team in NFL this year with arguably the best defense. The Cardinals of 2008 were basically the Seahawks this year. That is who Pitt vanquished for their last Superbowl, and that was by the hair on their chiny-chin-chin as I recall. The only hope Pittsburgh has is if McCarthy dials up one of his awesome gameplans that has the Pack treading water for 2 or 3 quarters on offense.

No one said anything about age in the comments I saw. That is not what we are talking about when we say the Steelers are not hitting on all eight at this time. The are sluggish on offense and not taking all opportunities given to them. But then you never played the game did you?

So you’re working on the assumption that every man commenting here has played football, but the woman has not. Interesting. Actually … I was required to play football for a semester in 10th-grade phys. ed. Of course, it wasn’t supposed to be tackle football–but you’ve never played with girls, have you, big guy? Some of them scratch, bite, and fist-punch the boobs. It’s not fun being dragged around the field by your hair. Since you can’t handle being on a blog with a woman, those girls would have torn you apart on a football field.

Someone on another thread was declaring the Steelers over-the-hill agewise, and when you said we were “in decline,” I mentally connected the two comments. But your nose is out of joint because I called it: You’re a Cincy fan taking a shot at the Steelers the same way the Bears and Vikes fans are taking shots at the Pack. I’d suggest you man up and own it. But the real men here–including many Bengals fans–don’t have any problem with women who enjoy football.

This “Deb” comments on the age of players, when no one was speaking about age, then to make a stupid comment about what happened last year makes no sense, except if you want to try to insult someone. So I hit her with the obvious failings of past Steelers, which make no sense either, to bring home a point. She is clearly a fan, but a true HOMER, without any clear thought or logic. So. By the way sports fans, PLEASE leave the Pat’s and the Jets out of the discussion. They are history for this year, as are the Bears and Atlanta.

I seem to recall the whiniest fanbase in football whining they had 7 starters out when they got their ass handed to them by the Pats. Hmmm…..how soon we forget.

Quick, name all the defensive tackles not named “Ndamukong” who are really good players in their rookie year. I’ll wait. It’s a very short list, and yet many defensive tackles who were drafted end up to be really good players (at least almost all of the defensive tackles who are really good players were drafted at some point).

Also, and I’m amazied that nobody has mentioned this yet, but Kris Jenkins is on injured reserve and has been since the first week of the season. He didn’t actually play against the Steelers, nor against the Patriots, Dolphins, Bills, Vikings, Broncos, Packers, Lions, Browns, Texans, Bengals, Bears, or Colts. The guy who replaced Jenkins, Sione Pouha, is nowhere near as good as Jenkins or Raji.

I knew this would instantly bring out a chorus of “Well yeah but look how many injuries the Packers have had!!!!!” from the Packer faithful.

Yeah, we know, you had injured players. It’s only been mentioned 10,000 times so far this season. So does everybody else. Get over it.

Steelers are still a lock. Rodgers will eff up when it counts. Mark it down. Championship!

The Packers are not making excuses merely pointing out that our backups are better than any other teams starters in the NFC and we are about to test the AFC as well. I imagine with the same result. I can’t wait for next year (if there is one) with Finley, Burnett, Neal, and Grant back the Packers will be unstoppable.

Anyone who thinks Big Ben is going to have it easy should realize this is NOT the same defense as it was last year. In that game, Jarred Bush, Josh Bell prevented Dom Capers from calling many of the plays he wanted to because he couldn’t trust them.

This time around we have Sam Shields, Tramon Williams and others who know what they are doing. As a result, the Pack is the #5 defense in total yards and the #5 defense in passing yards, as well as #2 in the league in INTs.

On offense, the Pack has the #9 offense compared to the Steelers #14 offense.

Its going to be a great game.

We are coming for you.
