With limited physical/athletic talent he managed to pick apart defenses and control games like a master. I was always amazed watching him because he looked so uncoordinated and lacking in athleticism, but it was all overcome by his mental understanding of the chess game and he had it down to a tee. He was like the a spastic nerdy QB with super smarts picking apart all the super-athletic-foaming-at-the-mouth-muscle-brained-jocks trying to stop him. Because of this he was a favorite for me to watch. It was like he was just predisposed in my brain as an underdog and so I almost always routed for him. I liked the guy.

Not sure what his downfall was after football. He always seemed highly intelligent to me whenever I heard him speak.

It would be a really nice turn if Belichick and Kraft gave him a position in the organization. Not a high level position certainly because his post-player track record doesn’t warrant it (in fact it doesn’t warrant getting any position at all)…but it would be nice to see the guy get a chance and it would be REALLY nice to see Belichick give it to him.

It was a fine time to be Browns fan, even if we never made it to the Super Bowl. I don’t blame Bernie for that. This city and its remember Bernie fondly.

But here’s the thing. Bernie’s been gone a long time. The organization he played for is gone. And what has Bernie done in the meantime to show that he can coach?

The problem with the Browns hiring him is, that if he flops, how do they fire him?

If another team sees something in Kosar that adds to their organization, then let them try it. More power to him if Kosar is successful. And if he goes and works for the Pats or the Bengals or even the Ravens, that doesn’t mean he still could end up back in Cleveland sometime, when it is right for both him and the organization.

I don’t think any one is clamoring for him to be Coach or GM, I think most people would be happy to have him as as a QB coach or assistant O-coordinator, the guy can read a defense like no one I’ve ever seen and he has a similar skill set as McCoy.
