He could coach QBs how to throw side armed.
----------------------------------------------------

Seems to have worked for him. Or maybe you think 286 passes in a row without an INT indicates an inaccurate, bad passer.

Pretty sure that record still belongs to him.

Bernie was one the most intelligent QBs I ever watched. With limited physical/athletic talent he managed to pick apart defenses and control games like a master. I was always amazed watching him because he looked so uncoordinated and lacking in athleticism, but it was all overcome by his mental understanding of the chess game and he had it down to a tee. He was like the a spastic nerdy QB with super smarts picking apart all the super-athletic-foaming-at-the-mouth-muscle-brained-jocks trying to stop him. Because of this he was a favorite for me to watch. It was like he was just predisposed in my brain as an underdog and so I almost always routed for him. I liked the guy.

Not sure what his downfall was after football. He always seemed highly intelligent to me whenever I heard him speak.

It would be a really nice turn if Belichick and Kraft gave him a position in the organization. Not a high level position certainly because his post-player track record doesn't warrant it (in fact it doesn't warrant getting any position at all)...but it would be nice to see the guy get a chance and it would be REALLY nice to see Belichick give it to him.

I grew up watching Bernie lead the Browns. It was a fine time to be Browns fan, even if we never made it to the Super Bowl. I don't blame Bernie for that. This city and its remember Bernie fondly.

But here's the thing. Bernie's been gone a long time. The organization he played for is gone. And what has Bernie done in the meantime to show that he can coach?

The problem with the Browns hiring him is, that if he flops, how do they fire him?

If another team sees something in Kosar that adds to their organization, then let them try it. More power to him if Kosar is successful. And if he goes and works for the Pats or the Bengals or even the Ravens, that doesn't mean he still could end up back in Cleveland sometime, when it is right for both him and the organization.

Good luck, Bernie.

He could coach QBs how to throw side armed. Seriously, the only skill Bernie has is how to move through bankruptcy court. Why would any team hire a guy who has been out of football for 15 years. Do you really think Belichick will sacrifice payroll for a guy without a current skill?

Did you watch him play, or were you even born yet?

couldntthinkofaname (almost a witty name by the way):
I don't think any one is clamoring for him to be Coach or GM, I think most people would be happy to have him as as a QB coach or assistant O-coordinator, the guy can read a defense like no one I've ever seen and he has a similar skill set as McCoy. He would be great for him to learn from. What your issue with CLE fans anyway, did you get beat up by one as a child, or maybe as an adult? Pretty sure I haven't heard a single Browns fan or Cleveland analyst say anything about Cam Heyword, every one wants A.J Green. I seriously laugh at all you CLE haters, why so much hate, give me a good reason

couldntthinkofaname,

Cleveland has a crap-hole of a fan base? You must be joking right? The team left for three years, has had two winning seasons in 11 years since their return, and they still pack Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Bernie Kosar is beloved in Cleveland so you must understand how Browns fans would want him to be part of the organization, it only seems natural.

Nobody is screaming for Cam Heyward, so please, think before posting your comments.

Kosar and Belichek re-united? I can see the Sports Illustrated “Signs of the Apocalypse” already.

Huge Kosar fan, wishing him the best. I wish my beloved Browns would embrace their past and give opportunities to their former players…BUT, we have Pat Shurmur!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kosar is a god in Cleveland and for them not to give him a chance is a travesty.

What's with you Browns fans? All you do is cry for Kosar to be your coach or GM. How'd the great Jim Brown experiment go? You're already ripping on Shurmer? What a craphole of a fan base. I like Kosar as well, but he hasn't worked ONE DAY as a scout, assistant coach or anything else.

Never mind. Go back to crying for Cam Heyward to be drafted sixth overall. He went OSU! He MUST go to the Browns.

Seriously, you guys don't have a clue.
