Bomb squad checks out suspicious package at Cowboys Stadium

Super Bowl Football

Here’s a start to Super Bowl week that no one really wanted.

FOX 4 in Dallas reports that the Arlington police SWAT team is investigating a suspicious package near Cowboys Stadium Friday.

While officers have closed off part of the road leading to the stadium, Super Bowl preparations are going on as planned inside the stadium.  No one has been evacuated.

Law enforcement agents from many different police agencies are on the scene.   We’ll update you on the story once we know more; hopefully we can pass along the news that it was just a false alarm.

This is sad. In today’s world there is always a serious threat of terrorism at major events. If successful, several thousands could be injured or killed yet people come on here and make tasteless jokes. Just ask Moscow about this sort of thing. Clowns.

All seriouness, you did have to wonder when this type of thing would happen. It is a true shame but you wonder what these type of individuals are thinking.

Oh, nevermind, it’s a tool case for one of the lighting guys.

Wouldn’t you think there’s hundreds of “unidentified” cases that could look “suspicious” at the stadium right now?

  11. rammer411 says: Jan 28, 2011 11:04 AM

What’s the surprise? Didn’t DeMaurice Smith say “This is War.” A pre-emptive strike on Jerry Jones. Somewhere Bush is smiling.

Wade Phillips’ daily Krisphy Kreme delivery.

This should have been forwarded to Houston by now….

  13. berniemadoffsides says: Jan 28, 2011 11:10 AM

@ chapnastier: Pfft! Other than the ones in Baghdad, I’m pretty sure 99.9% of these “threats” are false alarms.

    “No one has been evacuated.”

The building can be evacuated, but not the people. For a person to be evacuated, he or she would need to be given an enema, which doesn’t seem like the best use of time when a suspicious package is outside of the building.

    Simply splendid work.

“In today’s world there is always a serious threat of terrorism”

There has always been a serious threat of terrorism. You should replace “world” with “America.”

illad3………Cowboys never make the playoffs? Seems we beat the Eagles in the first round last year. We also know the difference between “there” and “their.”

  20. rooneyruleblues says: Jan 28, 2011 11:21 AM

There is nothing to be concerned about. Its just the box Jay Cutler used to mail in the game to Green Bay last sunday.

While the package was being investigated some prankster set off a firecracker in the vicinity. Everyone evacuated simultaneously on the spot.

  24. giablommi says: Jan 28, 2011 11:47 AM

    Whatever.

Just another move along, nothing to see here non-event being trumped up to further scare the American sheeple and justify increased expenditures on the DHS as well as the continued shredding of our sacred Constitution.

    Yep. The terrorist have won.

  25. pappysarcasm says: Jan 28, 2011 11:58 AM

This is probably just another Jerrah J publicity stunt! Anything and Everything to get attention!

The attendance record thing is an absolute joke with 5K in the parking lot watching on TV, but a little embellishment never hurt anyone, right Jerrah!

I’ve never been to Arlington and I’m sure it’s a fine city, but Cowboy Stadium is built next to a Wal-Mart? Way to take advantage of the beauty of the city.

  27. cowboyswag94 says: Jan 28, 2011 12:37 PM

screw all you haters who hate the cowboys!
    PHILLY SUCKS!

  28. 1seriously1 says: Jan 28, 2011 12:44 PM

  29. mrcowpatty says: Jan 28, 2011 12:59 PM

Probably just a couple of empty 40’s in a brown paper bag. Those Cowboy fans will do just about anything for entertainment.

Your just like every other cowboy fan…. 1 out of 10 isnt bad right?!? LOL

  33. frankvzappa says: Jan 28, 2011 2:09 PM

this is nothing but ridiculous government propaganda designed to scare the poor frightened americans…its time to wake up, every time there is some sort of scare, it turns out the FBI or some other agency is behind it…try not believing every lie the mainstream media tells

  34. dolphins4 says: Jan 28, 2011 2:22 PM

Maybe the box contains Jerrys over inflated ego.

  35. bigdad10359 says: Jan 28, 2011 2:25 PM

Hey illad3lph1a….if Cowboy fans are depressed, then how freakin bad must it be to be a Shegal fan? The Shegals aren’t even CLOSE to being the best team in Pennsylvania HAHAHAHA!!!!!
Hey, I got an ideal, why don’t you guys actually WIN a Super Bowl before talking crap about about a team that owns 5 of those bad boys. I, along with every fan in the NFL knows how JEALOUS Shegal fans are of the Cowboys and it is so obvious because of the constant crying you guys do. For me, there are only two outcomes to every NFL season….Dallas winning the Super Bowl or Philadelphia choking at some point of the season. Since 1966, I have yet to be dissappointed HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

who has been the best team in the NFC for the past 10 + years? stats dont lie …. Eagles are consistent, you guys are streaky at best.

I dare you to look up and post your record for the past 10 years and compare it the eagles. Then look at Division Championships past ten years, then look at whos played more playoff games in the past ten years….. should i go on?

i think you got the point
    dallas – irrelevant
    eagles – relevant

I agree, Cowgirls suck, and will always suck. Just let those fairies be happy by living in the past because apparently, to them, winning playoff games in this century doesn’t seem to mean too much to them. hahahaha
