We passed along a report this morning about a suspicious package near Cowboys Stadium.
Thankfully, it turned out to be a false alarm. The package that was in a sewer turned out to be trash.
Security officers saw someone in a car throw the bag down a manhole cover, and closed part of the street to investigate. (The picture to right is an officer looking down said manhole cover.) It turns out someone just couldn’t wait for garbage pickup day.
(I can identify, but don’t sympathize. Snowstorms have messed up my trash pickup all winter/week, but you don’t see me throwing bags down manhole covers.)

Someone threw out Michael Irvin and Deion Sanders?
That’s just wrong!
Hahahahahaha!!
you mean it turned out to be a bunch of meaningless government propaganda like it always does? just stay afraid america, so when they open the FEMA concentration camps, nobody questions it because we all need to be safe
If it was N.Y. the guy would be busted for feeding the alligators. Speaking of N.Y., police there are analyzing a surveillance video which shows a slightly built young man with a couple of trash bags struggling mightily to life a manhole cover. He finally gives up and trudges away with the trash bags in hand.

So the Jets did make it to Dallas!
Oh, I forgot to add: CANT WAIT
Efan
Way to be the first moron to post on this one!
Upon hearing the news, Jerry Jones immediately billed the cops $200 apiece for being in the vicinity of Cowboys Stadium.
if you mean “trash”… it must have been last seasons Cowboys game plans.
i think as a society we are all becoming a bit to paranoid, while at the same time, what’s up with the slob throwing crap down the sewer. I guess he never heard of a garbage can.
FYI, the “trash” was Favre’s retirement papers. Goodell made sure to file them accordingly.
Isn’t it nice to live in a day and age where someone tossing some trash out of their car isn’t just a $500 littering fine but national news?
We don’t see you doing it, Gregg… doesn’t mean you don’t…
As was most of the football played inside Cowboys Stadium this season.
Well, it IS his stadium…..
Who else thinks it was just the stuff Wade Phillips left @ cowboy stadium?????
The whole team can fit in a bag??
Of course it was suspicious. Normally the trash is on the field.
Hmmmm, muyst’ve been Green Bay’s game plan.
Headline should have read “Suspicious package near Cowboys Stadium, Cowboys 2010 season turns out to be trash”
It was later reported that the contents of the garbage bag included:
– 3 copies of Wade Phillips’ resume
– logistics for Cowboys Super Bowl parade
– game film of Cowboys game at Green Bay this season
Arlington police traced the plates on the car to a Pennsylvania owner, one Andrew Reed of Philadelphia who is in town to once again to WATCH a Super Bowl. Upon analyising the discarded bag, it appears it contained nothing more than the Eagles season.
On Box – “From Jerrys Room”
Contents – Roy Williams expectations
Dont throw out the trash Jerry, just pay it less and keep hoarding
–Go Birds!
I understand the obvious resemblance, but referring to a fat, drunken, cheese-covered Packers fan as “just trash,” is still a little insensitive.
File this one under the “Fear and paranoia driven media hoax” category.
I’ve always wondered whatever became of “PFT the Magazine”…
@chapnastier
Jealous much?
Suspicious Stadium found near abandoned garbage bag turns out to be trash.
When I think of Dallas, what comes to mind is the most compelling and horrific 29 seconds of footage in the history of filmdom (the short trailer for “Debbie Does Dallas”) and the assassination of President Abraham Zapruder.

To save on expenses to make sure he doesn’t need to spend more money that he needs to, this is how Jerry Jones gets rid of his garbage.
The word “crap” is classy? Who knew?

Of course it was trash!! What else are you going to find near a dumpster that rest in a state that is a landfill?
Darth Goodell beat me to the Jerry Jones joke. Well played.

“you mean it turned out to be a bunch of meaningless government propaganda like it always does? just stay afraid america, so when they open the FEMA concentration camps, nobody questions it because we all need to be safe”
Haha. dude, gov’t propoganda? stay afraid? All this was was someone reporting something they saw as suspicious. Happens all the time. sign of the times.
That bag had Romo’s shoulder and the Cowboys season in it as well.
It was just a bag filled with Jay Cutler jerseys.
Everyone hates on Dallas. Of course, the fastest growing metropolitan in the United States, what a terrible place.
Wonder how such a horrid area would appeal to everyone from the East coast and Cali.

Ok instead of stay classy i will say keep acting like idiots and keep making stupid pointless coments about every topic “ON HERE”. It really gets old maybe not to everyone but to me it is. Out of every 10 comments there might b 2 or 3 good ones that actually make a valid point..
Michael Irvin just dumping his stash before his car is searched when entering Cowboys Stadium.
Dallas has some of the best looking women in the country and some of the biggest redneck men
The bag had the tickets that Jerry was giving his team for the Super Bowl
And Tony Romo’s greatest plays video

Mayor Rendell is right – we are nation of wusses.
Suspicious package near Cowboys Stadium turns out to be trash<—That's what Jessica Simpson said!
Suspicious trash found near Cowboys Stadium turns out to be Jerry Jones’ old face.
It was a bag filled with all the leftover plastic from one of Jerry Jones’s face lifts/tucks.
LOL….Silly Americans… Twisted by the media to be afraid of everything….How sad
When are cooler heads finally going to prevail….. Also, how in the world is this news?
Cowboys Stadium = Landfill
Jerrah spends a billion dollars, and people mistake it for a dump.
Gotta love that.
