I can't help but notice all this "Aaron Rodgers is a leader" talk, he threw his teammates under the bus over something so petty and trivial that it should not even be crossing his mind, and certainly shouldn't warrant a story. Especially considering what he has on his plate next Sunday. All he is showing is that he is a selfish athlete, just like he has for years when things weren't going the Pack's way. He (like Rivers {who has had attitude coaching and apparently changed his ways}) has been caught red handed acting like a whiny, crybaby fool on national TV more often then he has actually succeeded in his career. Gonna take some time for him to bounce back from that and earn his stripes, A SB win would pretty much erase all of that... but he needs to learn to zip-it and bite his tongue, rather than responding to "social network" gossip. He had an amazing season! can't argue that, but it is really hard to classify him as a "leader" when he is acting and handling himself like the exact opposite.

You know i was pulling for the pack to win the superbowl. But the more they do or say the more i want the steelers to win. Greenbay fan defend Rogers saying he is a good guy but actions speak louder then words. Guys on the team are hurt and choose to rehab somewhere else means your not sticking with the team? THEY GOT HURT PLAYING FOR THE TEAM! Rogers did you forget that part? Rogers is a clear douche bag. a great QB but still a Douche bag of a person. You should be the first to stand up for all your team mates on and off the field hurt or not.

====================================

Aaron Rodgers was put on IR playing for the team. Aaron Rodgers stuck around with the team. Whether it was to learn, teach, or rehab, he was HERE, with the team! This is BS that we do not need right now!

Rodgers is definitely right, but he was absolutely wrong to go about it so publicly. He's supposed to be the leader of this team, he doesn't need to be publicly criticizing other team members, especially not during the ultra sensitive, over blown media frenzy that is the Super Bowl. Especially after his coach had already put the issue to rest. This is a personal, behind the scenes resolution, and it shows immaturity to handle it so publicly.

I thought MM had handled this surprisingly well, but where is he now? Why are his players waging twitter wars (seriously, twitter? Sack up boys) against each other days before the biggest game they've ever played in? MM needs to keep these guys, even the injured ones, one a shorter leash and tighter muzzle. Do you see this nonsense coming from Steeler camp? No you don't, because they're acting like a team that belongs there.

“Hey Pervy, this is Frett Bavre. I heard you’re now working at Cinnabon’s at Southdale Mall. Glad to see you landed on your feet. Sorry the Vikes let you go…I mean, what you do in private is nobody else’s business. Sure, it was in our locker room, but you were always discreet. Childress was a pain in the ass (in a bad way). Anyways, I heard you still do “massage” on the side. Do you have any time after work? I’m home alone tonight. I’d love to meet. You just don’t know how it feels to not be with a woman in 3 weeks! Well, ok, yeah, you do know how that is. But hey, you’re boyfriend can come too. If you’re not willing to take one for your favorite team, can you take one for your favorite playah? Hope you can squeeze me in, ‘put er in the old vice!’ Ha ha! I promise to say your name, call you my little Viqueen---Randy told me you like that. Later Pervy. Frett, Your Viking.

P.S. Sorry I never got around to getting you a signed photo you kept asking for. But hey, here’s a pic 4 u I know you’ll enjoy a lot more. ;) ”

The Steelers are a solid team and the AFC Champs. We (The Packers) need to respect them and pay due diligence. I know Nick is rehabilitating his knee injury...but seriously! Do we need to be distracting your teammates and coaches with this crap?!?!? He should have been on the sidelines on game day helping his young linebackers and supporting the team. Rehab the other 6 days a week. He has made millions..no reason to not be present during at least the big games. Rodgers is right...you want to be part of the team when things are great? Show up and help make them that way...even if it is just to support and teach.

As for PervyHarvin....ignore him. If you look at past topics he just logs in to wreck the conversation for the rational adults. If he wants to act like a 12 year old school girl we should treat him like one. Ignore and maybe he will learn.

Barnett said he doesn't want to be a distraction. If that's true, then he should probably STFU! I wouldn't count on being a packer next season after all the running his mouth has been doing lately. Not enough room for 5 linebackers getting starters money next season and the fact he's finished 2 out of the last 3 seasons on the IR doesn't bode well for him. Now he goes and starts running his mouth just before Tue biggest game in 14 years? Is he just trying to get kicked off the team? I for one think Rodgers has brought up an interesting point. Nice knowing you nick.

One thing you're forgetting is this thing never should have gone public to begin with. It should have remained private from day one. Whiny Barnett and whiny Finley should have just gone to their respective captains and come to a resolution that way. Instead they took to twitter, and this happened.

I do think Rodgers should have just let it go, but he was asked, "Aaron, do you feel for the IR guys, and I’m not talking about the photo thing, do you feel bad that they aren’t able to take part in this?" His response was to essentially say no. A lot of those guys chose to remove themselves from the team, rather than rehab locally.

It's also worth nothing Rodgers lobbied to get them in the photo. But as far as their missing out on all the Super Bowl stuff, I wouldn't feel bad either.

Good for Rodgers. He's a leader.

I recall in '95 Sterling Sharpe dogged it on a catchable Favre bomb in the season opener and, still pissed about Favre's new mega-contract signed earlier in the week, he bitched in the huddle about Favre being able to put the ball right in his hands for the money the Packers just committed to the QB.

Favre looked at Sharpe in the huddle and said, 'Catch the effing ball.'

Barnett and Finley had nothing to do with Green Bay reaching the Super Bowl.

And now they feel slighted. They've been cashing checks for 18 weeks and staying out of Green Bay.

F those clowns.

One problem with Rodgers' statement: the team wasn't letting the injured players travel and stay with the team in the period necessary to be in the picture. So, they didn't have the option of being with the team when the pic was taken. Besides, you have to wonder what his opinion would have been had Peppers given him a 3rd concussion in the NFC Championship game. It's hard to imagine that after a 3rd concussion the league would have let him play again this year. Had that been the case, then Rodgers wouldn't have been in the picture either, and I can't think of any player on the Packers who is more responsible for them being in the SB.

Btw, some players (most notably team leaders who can advise the younger players) are encouraged to rehab with the team. The others are allowed (and players the team aren't positive will be back next year are encouraged) to rehab elsewhere. Why? Because the team doesn't want them in the way and using up their trainer resources that would otherwise be used to work on players who are hurt but not injured. I believe in team loyalty, but sticking by the organization and attacking the injured players (who, in this case, are the wronged party) is taking it a step too far and into the realm of blind loyalty.
