Doug Legursky will be fine. Reporters make a living on drama. With very little drama on the Steelers front to report this is about the only thing they can find. Both coaching staffs internally do not see this as a big deal because Legursky is very good. Yes Pouncey is much better. But he's also much better than 31 other starting centers in the league. This time next year Pouncey will be considered the top center in the NFL and for a very long time. Legursky will hopefully still be a Steeler next year however it's going to be hard for them to keep him after Sundays performance. If Legursky was 6'3 he would be a top 8 center in the NFL.

@jc1958coo …

Our starting quarterback missed 25 percent of the season, and we’ve been playing with third and fourth string on the offensive line all year. The Steelers don’t make excuses. The standard is the standard. And don’t underestimate Legursky.

as I’m sure the Packers fans already plan on using officiating as an excuse as that seems to be trend when losing to Pittsburgh.

When the lead official himself came out and admit that the Seattle part-time fans were correct, common sense would imply MAYBE there's some reason that.

Oh wait, Steelers fan.. no common sense... Sorry about that.

You face a real team this year people. With a rich history just like your own. We don't play in the NFC Worst. We don't need a dome in a warm climate. We know how to play smash mouth defense. We have quite a few refs of our own that give us calls they shouldn't, just as the Steelers do. We mowed through the playoffs, all on the road as the 6 seed. We humiliated our biggest rival along the way. Sound familiar?

This ain't Arizona you're about to face. It isn't the overrated '05 Seattle team that might well have beaten you had they been allowed to play. This is a team that really is a lot like the Steelers.

Therefore, just as I give the Steelers their due (at least this year, not in '05), you're making a big mistake by underestimating the Pack this year. It's gonna be a very tough game, regardless of who wins.

steeler fan overconfidence is so amusing. All of their big wins have been eked out at home on that lousy turf. They have yet to be impressive but live off of their reputation. Missing the center will hurt against the capers D. Because Raji will live in the backfield now without a double team, Cullen Jenkins, Clay and others will be put in very favorable match ups.

34-24? The Packers scored 14 on the Bears D.

what you fail to realize is that the Bears just matchup well against the pack. I wouldn't count on a similar performance from your Steelers. Esp. considering that the Steelers haven't managed to stop a top 10 passing attack yet. They lost to both NO and the Patriots.

I'm still not convinced that he won't play. His cast was removed yesterday and he is in a walking boot. He also said that he played a week after a similar injury in college and he didn't miss any time earlier this year with an ankle sprain. I think he'll do anything he can to get on the field-- but they'll at least give him until the last minute to make a decision either way.

Adam Schefter is a little POS that rarely knows what he's talking about. Unfortunately there is no longer any effort by these so called journalists to get their facts right before reporting on a story.

This is obviously a huge boon to the Packers, although I feel for Pouncey - no one wants to miss the biggest game of their career due to injury.

To be sure, Legursky is no match for Raji. This should not only lead to more sacks, but generally help the Pack to contain both the run and pass.
