The Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens have agreed to a new five-year contract with punter Sam Koch, bringing him under contract through the 2015 season.
Koch, 28, played the 2010 season on a one-year, $1.759 million restricted free agent tender. The new deal will likely be similar to last week’s signed by placekicker Billy Cundiff. Cundiff’s is worth roughly $15 million over five years.
A former sixth-round pick out of Nebraska, Koch ranked second in the NFL with 39 regular season punts landing inside the opposing 20-yard line.
He’s first in franchise history in gross punting average (43.7) and net average (38.1).
