Donald Driver participates in Saturday walkthrough

Donald Driver

Packers slot receiver Donald Driver was a late addition to the Super Bowl XLV injury report Thursday, popping up as a “limited” participant in practice. He was also limited on Friday.

“He’s fine,” coach Mike McCarthy assured late in the week.

Driver participated in Saturday’s walkthrough practice, according to the Associated Press’ Twitter feed. It’s an indication that the 36-year-old, indeed, will be able to play on Sunday.

Driver has 12 catches for 141 yards in the playoffs. He’s caught four passes of 20-plus yards in three postseason games after recording six completions of that length or greater all regular season.

Never count Driver out, but even a workout fiend has to be getting near the end of the pro football road at 36. Glad he made it to the big game. Hope and believe that he will make a contribution for the Pack, but we need Nelson and Jones to show up big on Sunday along with Jennings.

Good for him. He deserves the chance to play after his long and productive career.

I agree. A Super Bowl win would be a great end to a great career for him. Hope he does well, along with all the other WRs!

Actually, I’m much more concerned that at least one of the Packer’s TE’s shows up, than I am about Driver. (e.g., Quarless was a liability in the 2nd half of the Bears game simply because he was afraid of taking a hit from Urlacher, not going for balls thrown to him over the middle.) We all know that Heath Miller is going to show up to play. I hope Quarless has grown a pair before the game starts. I mean, if he is afraid of Urlacher, Harrison is even more fearsome.

In less than 24 hrs the beginning of the end will take place. For 2 weeks I sat back and watched all these analysts sell Green Bay to the world. Green Bay this and Green Bay that. Tomorrow, everyone comes back to reality. I know what everyone is hoping and praying for. Can someone please stop these big, bad Steelers from winning their 7th but it wont happen!! Steelers 34 Green Bay 20.

It’s bad news for the Steelers if the old man can run. Track meet, anyone?

so i was just curious …and maybe all these delusional steeler fans can tell me…where in your stable of “playmakers”is this offensive explosion going to come from? If the packers can shut down the eagles and falcons offense…what the hell makes you think you’re going to light this defense up for 38 points? seriously people..take off your steeler underoos and come out of your moms basement and start posting like intelligent adults and not like a bunch of illiterate blithering idiots.
