Coach McCarthy is a very organized coach.
I mean with trips to the White House , victory parades, trips to Disneyworld, numerous TV appereances there just wont be time for ring sizing later. Best to get it out of the way early.

I have to agree with you 100%. Mid-3rd quarter, I thought his horrible penchant to force the ball upfield while nursing a lead was going to lose it for us. The even more disheartening thing was that Starks averaged 4.7 yards per run. LeBeau was obviously sold on the fact that Rodgers would have to beat his coverages as opposed to blitzing and getting burned. It almost worked, because of McCarthy’s habitual four passes and out runs.

Sorry to my fellow Packers fans for saying this, but that’s not “dynasty” football. That’s Sean Payton football – one and done. He needs to recommit to a run game balance, and I’d be happy with 60% pass / 40% run, the way he’s calling plays (which seems to be more in the woods of 85% pas to 15% run). They have to nail this down for sure if they hope to dream about a dynasty.

MM called a game that went balls-out on the passing attack because this was exactly how the Saints and Patriots had success against the Steelers’ defence earlier in the season, and played directly into one of the biggest strengths of the Packers offense.

I doubted McCarthy, I didn’t think he was a “superbowl caliber coach” All sorts of penalties early in the year, never shows much fire on the sidelines, but I am glad he prooved me wrong.

Coach of the Year is a regular season award.

Coaches who take preseason Super Bowl favorites and turn them into #6 seeds don’t generally get many COY votes.

If they revoted today, he would obviously get much stronger consideration.

No big deal but I don’t think they can get anything higher than a 5th round pick as compensation for Kampman because of his age. There is a restriction based on the age of a player regardless of how good they are. Besides, Kampman didn’t produce enough to garner a 3rd or 4th rnd draft pick.

McCarthy almost lost his team the game with that terrible clock management in the second half. Andy Reid would have been proud. I’m pretty sure they had 1 or 2 rushing attempts in the entire second half. I’m happy for the Packers and wanted them to win, but McCarthy did a horrible job managing the second half. Luckily, Rodgers got it done in the 4th quarter

I don’t understand this. They would have taken their size for the NFC championship rings, so why take another one for the Super Bowl ? Does your finger size change according to the ring you wear ?
