nickster2k; I explained how I came by my opinion. As I said; its an opinion based on the news stories; a common way to arrive at an opinion. The rape victim 'bs' is a matter of scientific inquiry. See this link if you have the guts;

Young people are very easily intimidated. That's why it's so easy to abuse them (this too is a matter of scientific inquiry and, if you have the nards, google that one). Of course she backed down. Most of the time they do (look it up, don't wait for me to school you some more). It's called shame and fear and victim blaming. The young lady said no but he did it anyways. And, since you clearly need a bit of an education, there's a very simple way to not leave your semen all over the blue dress; it's called a condom. What really bugs me about you and other's who support this douche is how can you delude yourself into defending him? I guess she wasn't your kid or sister or mother, right? Most of us don't even know her name but we're sorry for her as is anyone with a gram (it's a metric measurement; look it up) of empathy. No one puts themselves out there with the kind of media scrutiny it brings like she did unless something horrible happened to her. One day, I hope she finds it within herself to get over this. It's likely damn sure her rapist wont do anything decent about it.

Yes, Ben you've been part of the problem since the beginning of the season. So the season ends as it began. Hopefully, the Steelers can get passed another birthday of yours without any surprises. While everyone else is thinking about the CBA being over in March, I'll be waiting for your birthday to pass in March.

I tend to be optimistic so I'm hoping you get married this year. Your fiance looks like a mature woman rather than a college girl. Things are looking better already. Live long and prosper.

Igottz, Did you read my post? I did include the 2005 afc championship. It was included in the 7 biggest games of his life, in which he has thrown 10 int’s and 8 td’s. There is a myth out there that Big Ben is super-human in the biggest games. Do the above stats sound like a clutch QB in big games? No. Raplisberger is a good qb on a great team, and any mention of him as an all-time great QB is absurd. BTW, Manning has as many playoff rushing td’s as Raplisberger, 3.

==========================

If you're a Manning fan, you can criticize Ben's play on the field (although Manning didn't fare much better with that choke job in SB 44)-- but you should cool it with the Raplisberger "jokes" because people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Manning admitted to assaulting his trainer when she was just trying to do HER JOB.

In my experience rape victims feel little but fear, shame and anger when they think of the event or the rapist.

========================

Funny how you provide an analysis of the game without having seen it, and also spew a bunch of bs about the rape allegations without any clue what transpired.

In your experience do rape victims also show no sign of having been raped (per hospital rape kit), have no evidence of the accused's DNA on their person or clothing (despite claiming unprotected sex) and then ask the police to drop the case (after telling lies and changing their story repeatedly)?

I hope your daughter doesn't turn into a drunken skank who cries rape when she does something she's not proud of.

Umm hating the yankees simply is due to the fact that their our rivals retard. And red sox fans are not obnoxious whatsoever.. im sure you are making this assumption off the five sox fans you know.. intelligent. You, like the rest of everyone outside of Boston, hates on our teams because we have success and pride and have a large market.. And just because im a pats doesn't make me a sox fan moron. The guy that sits front row at every sox game behind the catcher is a lifelong giants fan. his name is dennis drinkwater... You're assuming things.. And yes im so jealous of all the rings the yankees won in the 40's and 50's before i was born lmfao. Get real.

And yes we do chant yankees suck no matter what because thats how we feel. and trust me its not just sox fan chanting that.. most people feel that way. they are douches. Look at a guy like A-Rod. What a tool.. makes 27 million dollars and has a sub-par BA. pathetic.. Lets put it this way.. we have one pro team for each sport and have about the same amount of championships as NY. and they have the yankees! lmfao ask the jets and knicks what they've won recently.

Wow. I missed a great game (had to work; spent 12 hours keeping a kid alive. Got a win, too, for which I am grateful), but I feel I must comment in any case. Usually I don't weigh in on stuff I don't know anything about but I did see the highlights & the Roethlisberger post game interview so I think I have some feel for the situation. I think what happened had as much to do with karma as it did with the Packer's great play and the Steelers mediocre play. I don't know if that young woman is happy or not about the Steeler's loss. In my experience rape victims feel little but fear, shame and anger when they think of the event or the rapist. They lose a large amount their ability to trust or have normal relationships. So, Mr. Roethlisberger, explain what you did to her. Own up to the rape. Take the blame for that one Ben, THEN I'll tip my hat to you. Then you might be able to have some peace and play like you can play, instead of playing like the shaky, guilt-ridden douche that you are now. I say this as the proud father of a young lady about to enter university. I'd like her to grow up without running into some over-privileged ass who thinks the world owes him something because he can chuck a ball.

I love how guys like fancyleague and the clever “quitsburghsquealers” like to compare the Steelers and red sox as being obnoxious.. Do me a favor, go sit in center field at Yankee stadium with the bleacher creatures if you wanna see obnoxious.. Those are some of the ugliest, fattest slobs in the country who don't know a damn thing about baseball and treat it like a business rather than a sport. I hate the Steelers (pats fan) but i respect their fans because they’re loyal and knowledgeable of their team like Sox fans are. Both teams can talk whatever crap they want because they win and demand success. Ill gladly run my mouth as a Sox fan because we got Adrian and Crawford now and we’re gonna rape the AL east all day.

Lets see if the packers continue this success like the steelers have throughout the last several years. Oh and dont worry PFT, the pats will be back too trust me

-------------------------------------------------------

So we are to take the word of a "Pats fan" when it comes to his view on the Yankees and Red Sox?

Hating on the Yankees and all things New York is a Boston thing. Goes back to "the Curse". Why else would the Boston fans chant "Yankees suck" even at Celtic games? Why are the BoSox fans chanting it even when their team is in third place in September and trailing the Yanks by 12 games?

So pardon me if I laugh at a New England (aka Boston) Patriots fan defending the Boston Red Sox in this situation. Everyone knows most Pats and BoSox fans have each others' backs, especially when it comes to New York teams, especially the Yankees.

Hell, that's no surprise since a lot of people who like the BoSox also like the Pats and vice versa.

I also love how for years before 2005 I'd hear BoSox fans whine that Yanks fans were so obnoxious. Then the BoSox finally won something at last and guess which fan base turned into the very thing they whined about for so many years? Yep, you guess it... the Red Sox fans.

And the Boston jealousy of NY ain't ever gonna stop because the Yanks still have 20 more titles than the Red Sox...

I love how guys like fancyleague and the clever “quitsburghsquealers” like to compare the steelers and red sox as being obnoxious.. Do me a favor, go sit in center field at yankee stadium with the bleacher creatures if you wanna see obnoxious.. Those are some of the ugliest, fattest slobs in the country who dont know a damn thing about baseball and treat it like a business rather than a sport. I hate the steelers (pats fan) but i respect their fans because they’re loyal and knowledgable of their team like Sox fans are. Both teams can talk whatever crap they want because they win and demand success. Ill gladly run my mouth as a Sox fan because we got Adrian and Crawford now and we’re gonna rape the AL east all day.

You don't need to take my word for this. Just ask anyone who was on this forum (and who's not a Steeler homer) about what poor winners (most of) the Steelers fans were on this forum after their SB win VS the Cardinals. Big time gloating. No class (by some) whatsoever.

Saying they were "obnoxious" is both an understatement and also me being polite about it. If this place has an archives, go check it out yourself if you feel the need for "proof" other than my word. Assuming that "oh, Steeler fans wouldn't do that kind of stuff" is completely dumb. Just because a team has had success doesn't mean their fans automatically have class. I've known many Steeler fans for over 35 years and (as a group & in general) they may be only second to Red Sox fans in terms of being the most obnoxious sports fans around. It seems neither fan base is happy with just their team winning, they have to be asswipes towards everyone else who ain't a fan of their team...

Igottz, Did you read my post? I did include the 2005 afc championship. It was included in the 7 biggest games of his life, in which he has thrown 10 int's and 8 td's. There is a myth out there that Big Ben is super-human in the biggest games. Do the above stats sound like a clutch QB in big games? No. Raplisberger is a good qb on a great team, and any mention of him as an all-time great QB is absurd. BTW, Manning has as many playoff rushing td's as Raplisberger, 3.

@indywilson40
The facts can support anything you want if you only include the ones that make your case. Why didn't you include the 2005 AFC championship, when he threw 2 td's, ran for another, and went pick-free with a 125 passer rating? In fact you don't include any of the games he actually did well in nor any of his rushing TD's. That would be like judging manning solely on his rushing stats and his losses.

Holeinone09, Manning's career playoff passer rating is better than Raplisbergers. Manning's only problem is that he doesn't have a top 5 defense year after year. Big Ben in Big Games:
2004 afc championship: 3 interceptions
2005 super Bowl: 22 QB rating
2007 divisional round loss: 3 interceptions
2008 afc championship: 16 completions in 33 attempts
2010 afc championship: 35 Qb rating, 2 interceptions, o td's
2010 super bowl: 2 game losing interceptions.

In 4 afc championships and 3 super bowls, the 7 biggest games of his life: 8 touchdowns, 10 interceptions.

The myth that big ben is clutch has been exposed.

Ben definitely was off the mark yesterday on a number of his passes. But saying this one game defines his career is silly, either way. If so, then Manning can't currently be considered an elite QB since he has generally sucked in his post-season work. Ben has played well during his career, overall, given the total body of work. Don't know why he fell short yesterday, but he owned up to it after the game.

He began the season in the hole because of his own behavior. Hopefully, this will be a quiet offseason, and next season will be more "normal" for the Steelers.

Thanks to the entire organization for giving Steeler Nation a fun-filled and exciting year of football through the Super Bowl. Only 2 teams get to say that. While I wish we won yesterday, the Packers played a better game and took advantage of the Steeler's mistakes to win which they deserved. Congrats to them, enjoy.

So, here is one Steeler fan already looking forward to next season, with a more determined and hopefully trouble-free Ben, a more experienced Mendenahll, the young WR's, a healthy OL, the hard hitting defense and hopefully some DB's from the draft.

GO STEELERS!!

ROFL ... we are finally on the same page! Steelers have gotten me through some of the lowest points in my life, including three cancer battles. People who aren't football fans will never get it, but it's amazing how your team can lift you up no matter what else is going on in your life. Gift from God! Best thing is that the good feeling never goes away! Soak up every minute of it!!!! :)

And though the evidence shows Ben didn't assault anyone, he did let down the team and the fans with his reckless behavior. I'm thankful he appears to be turning his life around, but you make a good point that redemption shouldn't necessarily come so quickly.

Ryan Clark barely missed stopping one td pass, and I think it was Ike Taylor barely missed one of the late 3rd down passes.....game of inches. But Rodgers made incredible passes on those plays.

To those of you banging on Big Ben. Go ahead, he is still one hell of a player and will be back and win another SB. The Steelers have an awsome nucleus of wide outs, a solid RB in Mendenhall, and the best Line Backing corps in the NFL.......but a few observations...

Farrior looked old last night ( he is ), we need to find his replacement. He is a warrior, an incredible leader, but at 36 he worries me.

It will be great to get Aaron Smith back, and Ziggy Hood made strides, but we need another playmaker on the DL. Hampton is getting old as well, so a run stuffer will be a priority in the next year or two. Not sure if he could play DE in a 3-4, but Ryan Kerrigan out of Purdue is a total stud .

OL....must be addressed in the draft or Free agency.

Secondary. Set at saftey. Ike Taylor ok, Mcfadden ok, but William Gay has got to go.

And was I the only one who would have liked to have Jeff Reed back last night?

Lastly, looking forward to 2011. This team will be back, and I think we will see Ben at his best next year. I think he will work extremely hard this offseason and come back with a vengence.

denverwally - I totally agree with that. There are some class fans in every city, Steelers included. But the amount of ignorant jerks in the land of Black and Yellow is stunning. To cry now seems almost enjoyable to watch. I have no shame in watching the suffering of my rival becuase of the mindless crap I have heard from the jerks in these blogs. I will say the worst of the worst haven't shown themselves. So the decent ones are getting a little pissed.

Sorry decent Steeler fans. You need to speak up against the rogue ignorant fans from your own base once in a while (Deb, I know you have and I appreciate that).

It's kind of funny really, the biggest "haters" on these threads are Steelers fans (Just ask any Pats/Browns/Ravens fan about that) ... and now they are crying bloody murder because they are getting some of their own medicine.
Deal with it Pittsburgh.

His football legacy dependent upon one last drive? Or one INT? Ben takes them down and he is a HOF’r? Please.

Fking BS microwave society. So much more going on here than 1 INT or one failed drive. Tired of stupidity ruling the day…

***********************************
No, his legacy is based on him being in 3 super bowls (thank you Pittsburgh D) and sucking in two of them.

Hey, THANKYOU steeler7. You guys come from the same soil. Growing up in wisconsin and remembering the factory jobs and the devastation and years of hardship we went thru when those jobs left. The only thing we had to root for was our team. Forget all the trash talk and I know I have a VERY sarcastic/comedic pesonality, however when it comes right down to it I still rememeber your great teams with bradshaw and the boys. When people ask me who was one of the best qbs Ive ever seen I say Bradshaw. NOT BECAUSE OF THE RINGS but because of the fight in the man.In our time he would have made ben look like a saint off field but those were different times. Thanks buddy and condolences to you and steeltown

Hey Ben, thats the speech you should have given over a year ago. You let them down off the field and now you can add to the list on the field. Maybe you should lie low untill training camp starts again. Redemtion is hard earned. And the way it looks, youve got a hard road ahead.
