The Green Bay Packers have what it takes to be back in the Super Bowl for the next half decade. I predict that you will see the Packers finish out Aaron Rodgers career with Rodgers winning 4 Super Bowls.

8 draft picks...get a couple of linemen, a corner, receiver and a return man and the Packers just reload next year and are clearly the favorites.

Indianapolis will be flooded with the Green and Gold next year!!!

Aaronitout...great post!!!

I do t hink the Pack has the potential to make multiple trips to the Super Bowl. But as history has shown nothing is for sure. Thats why it was so important to get that title this year and not waste a great oppurtunity. For the person on here who said that the Packers had two many older players at key positions , I will say this much. All of the older players accept Clifton have their eventual replacments already on the roster. And because TT doesnt throw money at free agents the Packers will be able to keep any player that that he wants because the Pack are always way under the salary cap. Hawk will be resigned to a new cap friendly deal. Cullen Jenkins isnt going anywhere. Barnett has no place on this team anymore and I expect he will be released. If someone is stupid enough to throw crazy money at James Jones than good for them. TT loves drafting recievers. There isnt enough footballs to go around when Finley gets back anyway.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
you are partly right, the stars aligned in that the vikings convince BrINT to come back and that gave the Pack 2 easy victories. The Packers might not be so lucky next year, they might have to face T Jack Off at QB. I wonder if Dom Capers is smart enough to game plan for his formidable skill set.

It is easy to say a team is a dynasty in the making after they win the super bowl but just taking a look at the recent past there's a lot of evidence to refute it.

Fact is that the Packers were a 10-6 team in the regular season that got hot in the playoffs. If you take a look at recent teams that got similarly hot like the Cardinals and the Giants they fizzled out very quickly.

The landscape of the NFL guarantees nothing.

How I think the roster will look next year.

LBs

-Barnett will be gone. I'm guessing he will be traded to a 4-3 team for maybe a 3rd round pick or a couple of later round picks.

-Hawk will restructure to stay with the team. He had his best season and is younger and stronger than Barnett

-The only player I can imagine the Packers going after would be Lamar Woodley if the Steelers can't get him to sign again. If that doesn't happen then I expect them to draft another 3-4 OLB to develop and trust in Brad Jones, Erik Walden, and Frank Zombo to keep it going opposite CMIII

WR/TE

-The entire receiving corps will be back. I think Driver will slide down and become the 4th man in the rotation with Nelson being #2 and Jones being #3. I don't think James Jones is going anywhere, too many big drops in big moments for another team to offer him a big deal. I expect the team to draft a receiver that they can develop to take Driver's place.

-Donald Lee will be gone. Finley will be back and terrorizing secondaries. I hope Quarless will be more surehanded next season. Crabtree is a good utility TE/H-back type of player

RB

Grant will definitely be back next and will it will be a battle between he and James Starks for the starting tailback. It is going a bit unnoticed how successful Starks was against the Steelers. Had receivers not been dropping 3rd down passes I think starts would have wound up with around 80 yds and a +4.0 ypc.

Brandon Jackson will be back in the 3rd down role. He will become to the Packers what Kevin Faulk was to the Patriots for so many years. Maybe not as dynamic but very dependable catching the ball out of the backfield

One of the three fullbacks is going to be gone. I'd imagine they keep Kuhn and cut either Korey Hall or Quinn Johnson. Do you take Hall's consistency or the potential of Johnson?

O-Line

Clifton already said he is going to be back. That will keep Bulaga on the right side. What the Pack really needs is a big nasty at the left guard position. Someone who can come in and give some attitude to the run game. I expect them to draft oline early but with TT you just never know.

D-Line

I am really up in the air in regards to Cullen Jenkins. He is extremely valuable but is over 30. Does Thompson go with the youth (Mike Neal will be back, CJ Wilson played well, Johnny Jolly will be done with suspension) or does he try to keep the savvy veteran for less than he might make out on the open market. The idea of winning another Superbowl will be a huge plus for TT

I wouldn't be surprised if Howard Green is gone. He played extremely well but is old as well. I'd like to keep because you can never have enough big bodies but with Jolly coming back someone will be the odd man out.

Secondary

Woodson is back, wouldn't be surprised if he is moved to safety. Sam Shields and Tramon Williams will be the starting CBs. If Woodson does get moved to safety then Green Bay will have the leagues best secondary, hands down no question. I expect them to draft more cbs to develop the depth there.

Special Teams

Please, please, please! draft a return specialist. I get terrified every time Tramon Williams fields a punt and I just do not trust Pat Lee fielding kicks. Does that Jacquizz (sp?) Rogers out of Or. St.return kicks/punts? Like to see somebody like that back there.

Crosby isn't going anywhere. Could be much worse, can you believe how bad Suisham shanked that field goal? That was laughable.

Mastay has gotten better and better all year. He will be GBs punter for a long time.

Thanks if you took the time to get through all that. Thoughts?

Packers have some good things working for them but there are a few questions like: Will Hawk or Burnett be back next year? Is Ryan Grant and his 5 million contract going to be around? What will the Packers do to replace the likely loss of James Jones and Donald Driver, who is just about done, if not so. The run blocking needs to improve - especially on the left side. Another CB and OLB are needed. These questions need to be answered along with the chace of a let down. The Packers could be back again next year, but lets not put that in stone.

Nice to know this team wasn't bought. In this era of buying championships, the Packers did it the right way. They drafted, developed and had faith in the players. Could they have gone out and paid for a player to make them a better team, sure they could. Hope other teams take notice and start to develop their own players and look for character people. This has to make all Packer fans proud.

How is the Vikings stadium these days Pervy...still a squashed marshmallow? That's what I thought. Who is the Vikings QB? How are the Vikings going to sign the 16 FA's? When are you going to clean the dirty underware off your floor?

Is it time to start your yearly Vikings Superbowl talk yet?

Typical Packer idiots. Lets start dreaming of dynasties and talking next year. Best enjoy this one. The stars aligned just right for you. the NFC was weak and the Steelers were sleep walking last night. I’m really disappointed that a Tomlin led team came out so flat.

You are wrong THE AFC WAS a very very weak conference this past season. NFC crushed them in the PRO BOWL and the Packers beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl...The Steelers were lucky the Pack dropped so many passes...The Pack should have blown them out....
Harrision and Troy Palamolu were manhandled by the Packers.
Sir you sound like a Eagles or a Vikings fan...2 teams that love to hate because they have never won a Super Bowl....
The Steeler's were flat alright,,flat out beat !
You talk stupid, you deserve to be talked to that way

Typical Packer idiots. Lets start dreaming of dynasties and talking next year. Best enjoy this one. The stars aligned just right for you. the NFC was weak and the Steelers were sleep walking last night. I’m really disappointed that a Tomlin led team came out so flat.

" The stars aligned just right for you"

If 15 guys on IR and then losing Woodson, Driver, and essentially Shields in the Super Bowl is considered the stars lining up, well then the stars can go "eff" themselves. The reason the Packers can talk of a dynasty is because the history of the league now records the Packers' junior varsity to be the best team in the league.

This isn't one of those division championships that the Viking fans laud so much, this is a real championship. In fact, the Packers have won more championships this season than the Vikings have in 50 years.

For this to be a dynasty, they'll probably have to win two more championships in the next several years. They have a young team, they'll have a healthier team next year, and they have one of the best quarterbacks in the game. I like their chances to add to their trophy case in the near future.

Pervy came out of his hole? Finally off suicide watch?

Yes the NFC was weak, and the Packers stomped your pathetic, weak Vikings, that will be even more pathetic and weak next year and for years to come, the anti-dynasty.

Gotta beat the best to be the best.

Glad you can be a troll down to your bones and not sway from you hatred for the Packers. You are an excellent sportsman.

Enjoy the NFC North cellar for the next decade. We're done with you, go have a rivalry with the Lions.

Do I sense some bitterness?

All teams dream of dynasties after they win the Superbowl. Had theVikings won, typical Viking idiots would be saying the same things. Fact is, the Packers are a great young team and there's no reason to think they won't be a dynasty. They have an elite QB, great defense and coaching staff. Time will tell how they handle success, but all the ingredients are there.

History will show that teams with a great young group of players generally repeat and have the potential to dominate for quite some time.

------------------------

Not in the free agency era it hasn't.

This team could have lost to the Eagles, Bears & Steelers if a play or two goes the other way. To their credit they didn't lose those games and they made the plays when they had to. Next year (or the next few years) they might not make those plays.

Despite having such a young team, the Packers have a handful of key players in their mid 30s, a bunch more in their early 30s and late 20s, when many players start to slow down. A fair amount of their youth is in their back-ups; they don't have a lot of veteran back-ups like many teams do.

They had back-ups who performed well this year, but without a track record you don't know if that is something they can sustain - there have been many players in NFL history who have played well for a short period of time that couldn't continue to produce at that level. We'll have to see.

Definately a talented team, but injuries, free agency, age and the ball bouncing the other way can change things in a hurry.
