Rodgers’ brother: “Aaron’s got one up on Brett”

As MDS pointed out last night and as we reiterated during Monday’s ProFootballTalk Live, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers accomplished something on Sunday night that his Packers predecessor pulled off.

Rodgers was named Super Bowl MVP. Brett Favre never was.

After the game, Albert Breer of NFL Network pointed that out to Rodgers’ brother, Luke. “I didn’t know that,” Luke said. “That’s fantastic. Now Aaron’s got one up on Brett.”

Rodgers’ dad, Ed, also was happy to hear the news. “He didn’t?” Ed said of Brett’s non-Super Bowl MVP prize. “Oh, I didn’t know that. OK, I like that, though. That’s awesome.”

In other words, don’t be shocked if Favre comes back in 2011. Or 2012.
